MySQL connection issue
I've got a 128MB Xen VPS setup using Minstall but am having MySQL connection issues.
MySQL IS up and running, I've created several database / users yet Wordpress can not connect to any of them. Has anyone else had similar issues?
I've never had an issue working with MySQL via SSH before, it's pretty straight forward actually. But now nothing I create can be connected to.
Help a dude out?

Are you able to connect to your DB by using the command line? mysql -u -p?
And check your MySQL error log as well, sometimes that will give you a clue.
Yup, I created the users and DBs via command line like I've always done.
Can't find the log(s).
There is no DBName.err file or nothing about MySQL log in /var/log?
/var/log/mysql is empty.
The files
/var/log/mysql.log and /var/log/mysql.err are also both empty.
Weird, at least your log file should not be empty, and I assume you checked your pid file to make sure MySQL is actually up and running?
Yup, it's running, as confirmed by: 'htop', 'ps -aux' but strangely NOT 'top'.
Permission issue so that MySQL could not write to the logs? I am at my wit's end...may be rebooting the VPS would help?
Perhaps. I'll give that a go.
Good luck
Reboot 'scheduled'.
Not instant reboots...
Can you do shutdown -r yourself in the VPS?
It's already rebooted. Same issue...
I may just uninstall MySQL, and reinstall it manually and not with Minstall and just tweak it manually to reduce it's mem usage...
Sorry I could not help any further...
Still threw some thanks your way for the time spent trying.
