Looking for a VPS for 40 / 45 Dollar a year. (Near the NL)
Greetings everyone, a new guy here!
I've been around lowend for a while now, about time I'd create an account.
In either case, I currently have 40/45 dollar to spare, and I was wondering if anyone happens to know a good VPS with that value. Location could be either the Netherlands, Germany, UK, etc as long it's near the NL.
It should beat the following:
- 100 GB HDD
- 2TB BW
- 2GB Ram
- 1GB Swap
- 4 cores. (+3ghz)
If there isn't anything within the budget, that's oke. I'm just looking around to see if I can upgrade.
Appreciate it.
Regards,
Skyrider

Look at vmbox offer in NL - http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/67454/vmbox-3gb-ram-100gb-ssd-cached-3tb-bw-2-ipv4-ddos-protected-free-wildcard-ssl-nl-usa
its really hard to get 100TB HDD in a VPS
Gracias. Do they also offer any swap by any chance?
Indeed, but its worth a shot .
You won't get 100TB for your budget, if you mean 100GB it would be easy.
You sure it's TB?
You got to be joking with the 100TB disk.
indeed, I meant GB. I've adjusted that in my post, thanks! Didn't notice that until the recent post(s).
Also, isn't Dual core (2 cores?) @ 2.10GHz vs 4 cores (+3GHz) I'm currently having.
EDIT, I saw just "4 shared cores on this plan, no vswap"

Thanks but that's 50gb hdd space.edit, my bad. Had to read through the comments, didn't see on mobile.
Yours budget is too low, you will hardly find a VPS located in The Netherlands for $45 /year.
except for galazyhostplus!
Well there is VMBox, but I never used them and don't know how good their services are. They've been around quite a while, though.
I'm looking for a VPS located in the NL or near the NL. Seeing it doesn't make much of a difference speed wise if it's for example in the UK, or Germany. I don't expect to see tons of choices either, I'm just looking for options. That's all.
And I appreciate all the replies I'm getting thus far!
Well you can see the kvm plan if its match your budget

Go with VMBox. Nice people and no drama. Things just work like they should.
I googled up vmbox and noticed that in 2013 to 2015 there's a bit of drama. Could be wrong, but I do my research.
not for the specs he is looking for.
They provide 2GB RAM starting from $9.50 /mo, while his budget is 45$ /year.

You're probably right. I did find some bad reviews as well but in overall they seem to get good ones. They have been around for a couple of years and their support is very accommodating. My current box with them has an uptime of over 280 days. Not a single issue ever.
I'm considering going with: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/1353248 due to the fact that vmbox's more restrictions over GalaxyHostPlus. At my current plan however, the upload (bandwidth) is not being considered as usage, only download while at GalaxyHostPlus is seeing up & down in 1 bandwidth package.
So, tough call .
So, which one did you choose in the end?
I truly have not considered yet . I'm very skeptical when it comes to choosing.
$45/year for the Netherlands isn't hard to find in and of itself - even RamNode has considerably cheaper plans. It's just the needed specs that make it trickier.
Read OP's request over, please. RamNode offers requested specs for $20/m.
I was considering: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/1353248
However, the benchmark that was posted: (GalaxyHostPlus)
http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/3985183
Here's the benchmark with the host I'm on right now: (INIZ):

Despite that GalaxyHostPlus is having a higher RAM, etc. It's not beating the hardware I am on right now.
That was on an Intel Xeon L5630, but they said they also offer an 3,4Ghz E5? That one should get a better result. You could just write their support for a trial, like I did to run that benchmark. Would be also interested on the result of a better CPU with them.
Indeed:

To let you guys know, I went with GalaxyHostPlus: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/1353248 . I 'was' maybe considering VMBox.co as well, but they refused to give me a test/demo server, while GalaxyHostPlus was so kind to provide 2 of them (one in Germany and one and Franche).
If you want check at https://contabo.com/?show=vps
They providing this at 15.07
1000 GB HDD (SSD-boosted)
100Mbit/s Unlimited Bandwidth
14 GB Ram
4 Cores.
**In personal experience their service is good, they reply very quickly in email support, But not sure about what other members think about their service...
Best of luck with your choice....
