RamNode bringing in Cloud server
Looks like RamNode will enter into cloud market too. Still under development though. Received the below mail:
Dear Netherlands Clients,
We would like to inform you about the following maintenance:
Timeframe
Maintenance window start: Thursday, Oct. 29th 2015 00:00:00 GMT +1
Maintenance window end: Thursday, Oct. 29th 2015 01:00:00 GMT +1
Purpose/Impact
To improve our Netherlands network setup and prepare for the eventual rollout of our new cloud system (still under development), we will be performing network maintenance across our Netherlands location during the window above. The downtime should be less than 5 minutes while we apply configuration changes to our network devices. Servers will not be rebooted; only the network connection will be impacted.
If you have any questions please open a support ticket in the Client Area. We will post any related updates to http://twitter.com/nodestatus
To convert GMT +1 to your local time zone, feel free to use following link:

Here comes ramcloud.
The smell of coupons incoming is strong.
haha, thanks for this man. How did I miss it!!
Yes! Can't wait to see it in action
So what's this new 'product' to be called?
RamCloud?
CloudNode?
Fuck you, Wable?
CloudBasement
Don't get it.
i like that smell very much.
"Cloud" system. Why do they need to have downtime to introduce new marketing literature?
Yessssss, we need the RamCloud!
This was really due for long.
I see some people getting hot in here...
Because even new literature requires network maintenance sometimes?
It will be difficult to be innovative when you are late to an already crowded market. Will certainly be interesting although I don't see them rushing to drop coupons on LET.
They've never been big on coupon codes, Nick always reverts back to an old 15% off code that's normally still valid (it's still floating around these very forums too). But that's about the extent of couponing they do.
It's sad for us, but I'd personally rather pay a bit more for quality than a bit less for a supar experience.
That's strange. I never received that e-mail...
What I'm expecting:
Hourly billing with a monthly cap
The ability to resize containers
Thanks guys. Not to be a party-pooper, but nothing new is coming in the immediate future. I guess I could have emphasized that a little more in the maintenance notice. Still lots of work to do We just needed to redo some things in our NL network so that everything is uniform when the time comes.
awwwww
abandon thread
Damn you, OP !
They don't really do coupons anymore but up until a couple of years ago it was pretty common for them to have coupons ranging from 30-40% posted here on a regular basis.
Ooo, eck, cloud... oh wait it'll just be a new control panel with flexible resources lmao.
