+1, but Uncle Sal only has shop in Italy. If only they'd open another DC.
Cheaper but high latency from my location. (-_-)
Working fine here.

Los Angeles Node: dc03r02ds30.scalabledns.com
In the same node as @giang and me then.
Hear hear.
then let us see how the next few months
Exactly, mine is in Chicago. It is not 4096 who said that 1 GB but it is not 4 dollars either, it is 4.99, meaning 5.
Uncle Sal scored 3.2k in unix bench, but i can't say this one is really bad, actually it is quite alright for now. About same price as Uncle Sal but has more storage.
For next week I will be in vacation and will leave this on with monitoring see how it goes.

Which one is that M?
512 OVZ

Let's hope it last.

Misunderstand, i though you got 6 core. (-_-)
For $15 a year.
I might get one.
The Chicago Server (155ms) has even better ping than the upcoming buyvm in Buffalo (165ms).
Should I do it?
I get 800KB/S or 6400kbit/s on their chicago test file.
I am not sure, so far it goes well, but we will check again in a couple of weeks, usually after the nodes fill performance degrades.
If you need for vpn, try more testfiles around. Ping is not everything, throughput is important, after all a tenth of a second up or down is not much, but if you want to dl big files or watch movies speed is important, much more important than ping.
M
I am really sorry, I wanted to say geekbench...
M
@Maonique
I tried some. Most of the better ones give me about 800KB/s download speed. (my internet connection is max. 1400KB/s or 11mbit/s)
Some provide ~800KB/s then descent to 400 and climb to 1000. And sometimes the go down to 100KB/s but then rise instantly to 1100KB/s.
So which server is better for video streaming and VPN.
A Server that provides pretty constant 800KB/s and drops to 400-500 sometimes.
Or a server that provides a little less often the average of 800 but skips more between 100 and 1100?
I grabbed one of these too (1gb), but it looks like people have posted benchmarks. The only thing I'll add is that it looked like auto-setup once your order is paid, and I had quick response to tickets. Their control panel for the account is Solus, and it has options to enable TUN/TAP and PPP.
Looks pretty sweet so far.
@Soylent
I had an LEB special in their Chicago center, but eventually had to let it go -- as the network slowed down and the VPS wasn't as stable as I would have liked. I gave up after the last time when it was offline almost two days.
Erf... 2 days downtime is certainly enough to "convince" anyone to give up if they really need the VPS...
M
@connercg We moved datacenter facilities in Chicago to 350 E Cermak. Since then, uptime has been rock solid.
Any chance to revive that Xen 80% off deal as your welcome gift to LET members?
Also, on their site they have a 100% monthly uptime SLA, with a free day of service for any .1% below that. It's obviously debatable whether a month of free service is worth 1 day of down time, which gets back to the question of what you're willing to host on a LEB. For me it's a question of why, and how often. 24 hours of down time in a year because of a massive hardware failure or DC screwup or network provider problem is different to me than 2 hours of downtime a month because you don't know how to configure your nodes.
It at least makes me feel better that they're confident enough to make the guarantee up front.
just enalbed TUN/TAP and PPP for PPTP VPN
but cannot connect by my iPhone4 after installing http://board.prometeus.net/myfiles/pptpvpn.sh
the bash script is installed on buyVM,verything`s fine there
anyone helps?
Maybe reinstall and look what error you get ?
While the script is running, or in /var/log after you try to connect.
"It doesn't work" is not enough to troubleshoot, unfortunately
