  • 800mbit/s unmetered for 23.99€, great for streaming

    Time to dump my 20 KS1 :D

  • So intel +1, ARM -1. I wonder how much Intel paid for this.

  • Right..I'll edit the title..They are based on Intel Avoton.

  • I guess you guys all skipped over the 2.99 eur VPS they introduced? 2 cores and 2gb RAM.

Also, 24 eur for 32gb RAM is insanely affordable. Affordability is not simply low price.

  • For private EU, this is gonna be around 30 € (since I doubt those prices include VAT).

But are those Cpu cores powerful enough? 50GB disk enough?

  • I guess so..at least they ditched the ARM approach...

  • Issam2204 said: At that price, not really.

12€ for 4 cores avoton and 8Gig memory is not too much, but it's only 50GB networked drives... It is getting much more expensive for local ssd and more space.
Also: Dedicated cores or bare metal server? It's unclear.
I am deploying one now, to have a deeper look!

I wonder is it 30 or 50 Avoton series.

  • Update: the cpu is Intel Atom C2550 @ 2.40GHz and seem to be a bare metal machine.

Are you referring to the 12€ or 24€ offer (the C2550)?

No, prices in their site includes all taxes. See https://www.scaleway.com/pricing/
Volumes are billed €1 /month per additional 50GB of SSD
    Plans are 12€, 18€ and 24€ (4/8/300, 8/16/500 and 8/32/800 cores/mem/mbits). The 24€ server has except the standard 50GB disc, also 250 ssd local.
HDD space can be as much as 150GB per server with 1€ per 50GB extra charge.
    Extra ips are 1€ each.
And there is an offline snapshot space for some extra charge.

    So, not bad at all!

I deployed a cheap (12€) server to see what's all about. I will deploy later the "big" one, too.

  • "Our prices are VAT exclusive."

I can't deploy the new server. I still the old C1 ARM. That's weird.

They already had Avoton offers - https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/dedibox-xc

Hourly billing. More RAM. Decent SSD. It's different enough to make it interesting.

  • Yay!!!!

  • Seems reasonable.

I had to delete the browser's cache.

  • Now if they added the ability to load your own OS/Image then it would really be interesting.

  • Small HDD space made it not fit torrenting...

  • still no centos. Intel avoton cpu support it as i know only arm is in trouble with it.

    I love centos.... meh.

Well you can buy another 50GB for €1/month.

  • I hope they start sending out invites again.

  • I'm still waiting for an invite. Been months now...

Doesn't seem like a big gain to me over the initial ARM offering with the same specs/price. Interesting though.
