    Website should set the header X-Frame-Options: deny to prevent such thing from happening

  • Oh my god, it's frickin' genius.

    I think the point is that this website uses cookie stuffing , it's more like a kind of faqud.

    I guess providers will like it, as it brings profits on both sides.

    No one is losing on that behavior, it's just kind of tricks that we dislike, we may call it 'fraud', but who cares?

    This is called affiliate marketing what's wrong in it ? IF a provider does not likes they can disable their affiliate program

    Update: Got it you were referring to iFRAME did not noticed it initially but i had a word with him and it's removed

    No it isn't, and if you do support this kind of deceptive practice I recommend not posting it because it makes you look either ignorant or immoral.

  • An affiliate is paid for the business he brings to a provider. Does cookie stuffing bring business to a provider? The affiliate will earn a commission, if a client subscribe to the provider, but was it thanks to this affiliate? No. The client just browsed the site but there was no action from his part.

    Also, cookie stuffing rewrites an existing cookie. So, an affiliate effectively recorded a click, the client doesn't subscribe immediately, browse around (checking other offers), visit a site which is practicing cookie stuffing, returns directly t other provider site. Who get the commission?

    By the way, providers might not be aware of this, and might not have the knowledge to prevent it. After all , lot of providers are using ready to use system / package.

  • What's the point? I don't see how it will do any damage to buyers or providers.

    This is unreasonable and violates the rules.

    What rules?

    Suggest replacing your AUP's word 'Adult Content' into 'Pornography' and format it.
    https://www.hostdare.com/aup.html
    The first time I search for 'porn' in your messy AUP but only found rules for child, that let me believe you allow general porn content, but actually not. The same meaning shouldn't use two words to express...

    lowendclient said: general porn content

    yes allowed and we will fix it . Thanks for notifying .

    @pick you are right , he uses deceptive practice which is questionable but I have no relations to what he posts , whom he posts , when he posts , which way he links websites , whom he promotes . so I have no secret with him @h2o , he is just one of our 1200 affiliates

    not exactly "he" is #4, the ID is usually tied to the customer number, and quite commonly the first few customer IDs at least are usually created as test accounts... just sayin

    no, I cannot share any details , but ask any hosts in his sites . He does good what he does .

    check my links above , he joins <50 for most websites that has affiliate program

    if I am to control his website , I will remove all competitors links and add our website links only :D

    I think the best thing to do here is report this to WHMCS, all hosts request an update to the system to lock this down, wait 6 - 8 years for WHMCS to action it because John Kipling is not interested in allowing progress and then we will have a solution.

    It damages other affiliates by overwriting their cookies and results in fake statistics for the provider. Imagine if you recommended a provider to a friend and sent them your affiliate link, that friend clicks on it to check out the provider and decides to go research the provider and lands on that website to read a review or find a coupon, now instead of you getting credit for referring your friend that kid gets your money instead because he tricked your friend into using his affiliate link without his knowledge. It's bad for you, your friend, and the host who now thinks they got 2 views instead of 1. The only person it benefits is the kid running that website who's making money off of your work.

    With all my respect. Anyone does a great job does not mean he can ruin the rules.

    Cookie stuffing means violently invasion to both users and other affiliates. That is it, if you don't agree with this, just ignore me and I've got a satisfy answer.

    I confirm with @gonyi himself, his explaination is just "a test for about 30 minutes". What really makes me so upset is your attitude.

    All your said so far in this test sounds like " My top salesman earn a lot money for me, what's wrong about his bully on all of you?"

    It is not about @gongyi, he is a very hardwoking man. Everyone makes mistakes.

    If you don't know how to respon properly, here is statement for you, for free! There maybe some spell or gramma mistakes, but it is far more better than all your words in this post!

    "I've communicated with him, he placed the iframe for cookies stuffing on xx:xx Nov 23 to xx:00 Nov 23, for test. We've removed all the commission he got in that period and we don't allow this."

    That’s the theory, but I have a feeling that the reality is more like a pack of wolves fighting over a steak and one crying foul.

    I concur, but in reality I don't care the reason why this was brought to light I'm just glad it was and I hope providers who are sending checks to this guy realize how the immoral practice impacts them and their legitimate affiliates.

    then we will have a solution.

    If WHMCS is running behind Nginx, then use it to set the header. Add following lines to nginx.conf under the server section,

                add_header X-Frame-Options SAMEORIGIN;
                add_header X-Content-Type-Options nosniff;
                add_header X-XSS-Protection "1; mode=block";

    The X-Frame-Options should be enough, the others are extra.

    @tianyi Really, are you being sarcastic about him being a hard working guy? You just don't do what he did just to test it out. Yes he will still take the money from that time because he doesn't which payouts were legit or not. I really hope this affects traffic to his website.

  • Remember that time I trolled the scammer so hard he made a post trying to expose me for "scamming" when he, himself, was the scammer the whole time?
