Looking for 1gbps VPS for VPN
Hi,
Looking for VPS which can provide a 1gbps connection. We won't be running 1gbps full time. This would be as and when required during peak traffic. We should be able to burst upto 1gbps if required. The bandwidth usage would be less than 1TB.
Looking for a config with 1GB ram, 2 Core proc under 7.5$ .

RamNode 1024 MB "[Standard] OpenVZ SSD" $7/mo? http://ramnode.com/vps.php
They are pretty solid.
Private VPN? If so 1GB ram is overkill.
misterhost.net offers 1GB with unlimited bandwidth for $59/year

@Joery, depending the number of users and the VPN software, it might not be.
Softether uses a lot for example...

Not RAM, but CPU. I'm running it on 32MB of RAM. And I've run it fine in 256MB VPS with 10 simultaneous connections, the RAM is somewhat fine... the CPU is 100%.
Too bad, seems I removed it from my monit so I can't say it for sure but, check this:
Uhm? Is 13MB considered a lot?
Here's mine.
No, (: But depending on your number of users these numbers will go up for sure.
Mine was just idling. Usually there are at least 3-5 people heavily using it.
Sure, 1gb is an overkill just for VPN but 32mb might lack as well.
According to ps_mem:
This is the memory usage of my vpnserver
1- When I first connected:
13.6 MiB + 179.0 KiB = 13.8 MiB vpnserver (2)
2- After firing up 3 vpn connections:
15.6 MiB + 193.0 KiB = 15.8 MiB vpnserver (2)
And it goes up.
I'll be honest, I thought it used more.
As for cpu, yeah even when idling it's on the top processes list.
