The bandwidth there is VERY expensive. That's why you don't find such offers.
http://mtnbusiness.com.ng/hosting-service-plans
$270+ for smallest plan
Even paying VERY expensive ?
http://oneprovider.com/dedicated-servers/tunis-tunisia will be closest you can get at an OK price i think...
bandwidth over here is very expensive..
i would go with http://mtnbusiness.com.ng/hosting-service-plans
but i think you will get better option in South Africa
By far better in ZA.
I chose Nigeria coz I have a VoIP project from IvoryCoast, so closest big place I found is Nigeria, that's why. But traffic must point to Europe.
Latency from IvoryCoast to Europe (NL or UK) is about 120-150ms, but very inestable, I need to install a POP close to IvoryCoast.
This maybe can be useful
Even if you have Nigerian VPS the routing would with 99% certainity not be direct but run to either South Africa or Europe before. There is virtually no peering in Africa.
Well, what I need is a low latency connection from clien's location to a near VPS system, so ATA devices have stable connection, better than connecting to UK, the quality now is horrible.
I understand that I should search for a close place going to the north, pointing to the UK, right ?
@coolice yeah, very very useful !
Whatever provider you end up going with, make sure it isn't owned by a local prince...
My knowledge of VPS offers in Africa is limited to the one I know in Tanzania.
And there was also Hetzner South Africa division.
You can ask directly to Ivory Coast MTN: http://www.mtnbusiness.ci/grands_comptes_hebergement/143/0/ or to Ivory Coast Telecom: http://www.citelecom.ci/index_business.php?parcours=integration_service
May be Egypt? Closest location to Nigeria with better pricing.
There's Host1Plus in Johannesburg, if that works.
You can check here a complete worldwire submarine cable map

I dont think that South africa would have a better peering than some countries in europe
I think Portugal would be the best
One of the major ISP's here made a launched a new datacenter last year

It's impressive, the amount of stupid suggestions people are making on this thread while having no idea about what they are talking about.
@KeyJey check routes with providers in South Africa, maybe you can get lucky with some of them. If this doesn't help... you are left only with central Europe or maybe London, connectivity in Africa sucks big time.
Only Egypt, Morocco and Kenya has a something reliable in Africa if not count ZAR
Why these countries?!
Submarine conections are much more reliable
Portugal has a direct conection with the recent high debit WACS cable
Among with several others
Check here http://www.submarinecablemap.com
And nearly no one is using that cable in Africa (yet)
And that statement is based on what?
There are 2 more cables with direct connection
Experience. Nearly everything is SAFE and Seacom based.
Well, my conclusions were like this:
Nor South Africa or Johannesburg or Egypt, Morocco or Kenya have good ping from the UK or are "close". Most of this countries are in different main submarine cable or still more far away than Ivory Coast. Well, if you consider 4.000km of distance "close" ..... :P
Most of the pings to this countries are superior to 300ms, sometimes 400ms
Also, Nigeria DCs are totally expensive and impossible to pay.
So I decided to keep this in UK, but I know they are oppening a new DC in the same Ivory Coast .... maybe soon ....
Thanks anyway for your tips ....
