My ISP provides wireline internet connection to my home through a box on electricity pole, the problem is squirrels chew away the wires in the box and I have to complaint to my ISP again and again. So, if anyone have a solution to keep these squirrels away then please suggest.
My ISP simply doesn't care about these issues and this time I had to wait a month to get it fixed.

What do you mean by wireline internet, just plain ADSL? Post a link to your ISP's page please!
An air gun?
Air gun or squirrel treats on the bottom of the pole if your an animal lover.
grease the pole
That's what she said.
Never tried it as I've never had a similar problem, but maybe something similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Yard-Sentinel-Electronic-Control-Repeller/dp/B005KNVH18
Who is your ISP?
hang a scarecrow on the pole.
Mouse trap.
Make a mix out of vinegar and lemon juice and use a paintbrush. Or get a big big big duck-tape role xD
nitrosrt10: Search "home ready to eradicate squirrels" ..... seriously.
Squirrels are quite smart and quickly learn how to get around even the most creative obstacles.
@skybucks100: Some of the electronic repellants are a mixed bag (in terms of effectiveness) and can become an expensive "experiment" (similar is mentioned in some of the reivews of the one you linked) and you have to stay on top of the batteries (whether conventional or rechargeable)
I've used Critter Ridder and it seems to work well. Places like Walmart sell them.
Has to qualify for the best post title
I'd try putting a cutout of a hawk/falcon/eagle on the pole. Should scare them away.
Put corn on the cob (Dried) elsewhere in your yard, keep them fat and fed.
Dude, what century are you in?!
So off-topic but still so related. I love this thread.
Squirrels don't like wires as food, they just want to get rid of them so they can use the box as their home. They are friendly little critters and fun to watch, so be nice to them. - Just buy or build them a little squirrel house, screw it a little lower onto that pole and put some food (a dry corn cob, nuts, maybe some bird food) into it. They'll move in quickly and leave the wire box alone.
A couple of thoughts from a guy who works from a Telco and used to work in outside plant.
1 - make sure you aren't creating a climbing hazard or whatever you attach will be removed next time the utility company needs access.
2 - You might be able to find a cone that opens down and sticks out about 24" or so... I assume your utility poles are joint use so even the power company might have them and might even be able to attach it for you. They go about 6' off the ground. As long as you can get a ladder past them they're not really a climbing hazard. Kind of looks like one of those cones you put on your pet's neck to stop them from chewing on themselves after an operation.
3 - The other option would be to get a 6' panel of sheet metal and band the pole. Just make sure you don't have any seams that the little buggers can get their hooks into.
I assume they're going up the pole and not going up another nearby pole and running on the wires. There is a similar dog collar thing the company can put on the wires to stop the squirrels too.
Thanks for all your input guys,
Well, the problem is the pole is owned by the Electricity Board of my state and I can't do any structural modifications to it or add any physical thing to the pole as it's illegal apparently!
By the way I do live in 21st century like you guys but unfortunately the place I live in is more like 20th century (Although its the capital of my country)
Will naphthalene balls solve the problem? Googled but couldn't find any relevant solutions so I started a thread here
And I don't wanna harm the squirrels, they are super cute lol
My ISP is Reliance Broadband, it's the only one available in my area and they are like exactly that cable company in south park :P

A 9mm should solve the problem. Just dont hit the box as well.
What has penis size to do with it?
Cats.
Ok if you don't want to harm the squirrels and can't add anything to the pole, maybe you can spray it with some special smell that scares the squirrels and keeps them away?

This guy had the same problem....
And he wrote a Python programme which operates a water gun to shot at squirrels when they are detected....
Or, maybe put up a cat?
Dogs >>> Cats, for squirrels
Ferrets are fine too.
cats are for life, not just for chasing squirrels...
that python automation sounds good, if not incredibly geeky
Aw bummer, I was assuming something along those lines (too good to be true concept). Oh well, thanks for letting me know!
