INIZ - 6 months review (OpenVZ + KVM NL)
Services
I've been with @INIZ since November 4. I've switched between three plans with them so far, although I've only had VPS in their Amsterdam, NL datacenter (which is nForce).
- 2GB OpenVZ VPS (NL, nForce)
- 1GB KVM VPS (NL, nForce)
- 512MB KVM VPS (NL, nForce)
2GB OpenVZ VPS (NL, nForce)
The first one was 2GB OpenVZ VPS that I used as an Electrum node. Even though electrum-server and bitcoind were extremely resource-hungry (both I/O, RAM and space-wise), the node ran just fine for four solid months.
I had no downtime at all during this time, but DDoS attacks on a server in the datacenter in December and February made my VPS unreachable or barely accessible for a few hours.
However, Patrick sent mails to affected customers, informing us of the situation pretty quickly.
Unfortunately, I haven't saved any benchmarks from that time, but network speeds have never been an issue, and disk I/O (dd) was between 200 and 400MBps.
1GB KVM VPS (NL, nForce)
In February, I switched to a 1GB KVM VPS (I stopped running my Electrum node), which worked pretty well too. I kept it for a couple of months, up until a few days ago. Again, there was no issue with the network and support was top notch, since Patrick is easily reachable in case a problem arises (he idles on IRC).
The only problem was (is?) with abusers on the node I was on. During those two months I would often pop into SSH and run a random dd test at different times of the day, and I'd often end up getting inbetween 5 and 35MBps. Upon contacting Patrick and stopping the abuse, I/O rose back to its normal speeds (between 100 and 200MBps). An excerpt from a ticket (March 11):

Thankfully, I wasn't using any service requiring good I/O, so it didn't impact me much, but it could have for other users. That's the only trouble I've had in my experience with INIZ.
512MB KVM VPS (NL, nForce)
Recently, I downgraded to a 512MB KVM VPS, and I was transferred to another node. I use it as my main VPS (LEMP + mailserver + OpenVPN). I'm back to getting great speeds:
Here's the combined 1GB KVM VPS + 512MB KVM VPS uptime & network speeds for the last month. I rebooted yesterday, so don't mind the uptime:
Conclusion
I came to INIZ for a high-RAM plan, and I ended up staying as a faithful customer!
Patrick and his associate run a solid show together. The highlights of INIZ are their great network speeds (at least from their Amsterdam location) as well as their fast and available support. The I/O might be slow from time to time although it hasn't been an issue for me since I don't use services that heavily rely on I/O.
I have yet to try their new NY location, though it seems pretty promising.
All around, INIZ is a great provider - I can't complain. Try them out

Awesome! I've been with iniz for 1 year and ~ 5 months, I totally agree with your conclusion and I have only good things to say about iniz. They're just awesome!
Iniz has been my primary VPS for 1 year. It hosts 7 of my Wordpress sites on a 2 GB RAM VPS. Uptime has been awesome. I cant recollect a single instance of downtime. A month into the service, Patrick added an additional IPv4 for free.
Support response has been great. And unlike some providers over here (Read Greenvaluehost), support response has been cordial and prompt, even when requests weren't actually strictly node related. If they go like this, I'd have to keep renewing indefinitely. Though initially I'd bought from INIZ, mistaking them for EDIS
Good work chap.
They're just awesome! Not an ordinary Low End Provider.
Iniz has been good. I am using iniz vps for over an year now.
My friend had a INIZ VPS, and he LOVED it. It's such a shame that he was DDoS'ed on it. What a jerky move that person did.
Nice review and I agree they are a great provider.
I used INIZ for a few months. A ddos attack came my way and they suspended my account and told me to find another host =/.
Was a hassle.
Iniz please offer ddos protection in near future.
It's already planned for NYC/NL, this will come in due time.
Nooo, iniz please add lax location for ddos protection, BTW, is it IP filtered ddos?
I got a server with Iniz in NL I have to say out of all my VPS and Servers that my VPS with Iniz is my Fav by far!
i had/have a VPS from them, never had downtime and they are fast with support tickets
A little bump to show network speeds:
Which speedtest is that?
@trexos do you think that quoting all those text was needed ?
No, sorry I'm on mobile and was to lazy to edit:P
@trexos: A custom speedtest based on @Silvenga's, available on GitHub.
If only they could match Bandwagonhost/GVH prices! I could use a 512MB plan for $10/yr right now.
I really want to try INIZ but already have vps with openitc, hosthach. But iniz is added in my wish list .
Yeah Iniz is a great provider, except that I've had 11 ip changes on my 4 boxes.
You're like the worst kind of customer there is. Expecting amazing specs and awesome support for 75 cents a month, then complaining they don't give you an army to fight against the Northeners.
Wrong. Currently I have only 1 VPS and it is not with any of the low end providers here. It is with a quality provider that does not advertise here.
Yeah low end providers suck.
Except Ram(med)Node.
you belong to the elite community, why you're still bragging for $10/yr VPS here? according to you, these are not quality providers!
He's a liar. He's obsessed with getting VPS Servers for 35 cents a month and was willing to do anything to get trial VPSes and save 25 cents wherever he could.
Totally agree with you. Because there are many providers here who gives a quality service.
I told you I only have 1 VPS, so I'm not obsessed with getting VPS's. I do enjoy comparing, which many ppl around here do when it comes to price:performance.
Please show me where I was 'obsessed with getting a vps for 35 cents a month' and where I was 'willing to do anything to get trial VPSes'.
