Low-end providers for VPS in Paris (FR)
Are there any low-end providers for VPS in Paris, France, that could compete with OVH's prices?
I'm basically looking to have a VPN as close as possible to my location. I have a Classic VPS with OVH (~2.5€/mo) in Roubaix, and it has excellent speeds, but I'm still curious. So far I've only seen offers from LusoVPS (256MB, 4.5€/mo) and Delimiter (from 512MB to 1.5GB, though all lack bandwidth and are expensive).
I don't need fancy specs; 128 or 256MB with 1 virtual core should be fine. However, I need a hefty bunch of bandwidth (ideally >= 1TB), since I mostly use my VPN for watching streamed videos.

They provide NAT ipv4 on 20 ports, so you could just bind it to one of the ports.
Bandwidth is unlimited aswell and I think 1tb wouldn't be a reason to kick you because of ressource abuse.
I'm not against using NAT IPv4, but the offers you linked to are for VPS in Roubaix, where I already have a VPS with OVH. That's specifically why I'm looking for VPS providers in Paris
Oh, and I just also saw they don't have TUN/TAP, I'l look if I can find any budget servers.
This provider is outside France, but has a good reference and price, check out:

It's going to be hard to find something cheap that's not with OVH...
(BTW, if you are in/close to Paris, why would a VPS in France be a good choice for a VPN? (same legal context as your DSL provider, isn't it?))
Good luck
Then get one or two from here, nat IPV4 + ipv6 and you have 500gb,250 or 100gb of bandwidth. And all that only 3$ yearly.

I just found this: http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/25211/instant-cloud-vds-linux-windows/p1
Maybe it's in your price range.
I can't figure out where to select the VPS location on their order form.. erm. The price is extremely interesting though.
Well, the issue with my ISP is that they throttle certain bandwidth-consuming services (YouTube and Vimeo amongst many others) during the evening. It's extremely annoying and has been going on for years - the only fix I've found to work reliably is to use a VPN.
The location of the server that hosts the VPN doesn't really matter; as long as I'm not directly using my ISP to access the throttled services, then wherever the server is, they will be unthrottled.
I'm only trying to get a VPS in Paris because I live there, and I assume I would get better speeds if the VPS was closer to my place. I'm completely aware that the speeds I'll get totally depend on the provider's network, though. OVH have a solid network and that's exactly why my OVH VPS works like a charm as a VPN.
Not in Paris, unfortunately!
Why not - $5 is a bit more than 3.5€. But that's still slightly above OVH's price, and I don't need DDoS protection, which I'm sure increases the price.
vultr.com has a pretty good network. I haven't tried their Paris location though. They will double your first payment to account credits, effectively making it cheaper than OVH for the duration of those credits. 768MB RAM, 1TB BW. I just checked and it looks like their Paris location is sold out at the moment.
He said OUTSIDE france. In this case that's Czech republic
Hasn't it been for quite a while now? I'd go with Vultr anytime if their Paris location was available.
My mistake!
Not sure, maybe @DaveA can provide some insight
I hope he will. I would trust Vultr, especially since they've received positive feedback here, more than the other new hosts that were mentioned in this topic.
Agh, what a shame. I'll try to get my hands on one of their small VPS, since that's exactly what I need.
I'm not surprised they are low on stock, really; Paris is probably one of the only major European cities that lack proper hosting infrastructure/datacenters. As an example there's no way Paris can compete with Frankfurt atm, even though it really ought to... /rant
We have some spare space in Paris, we can offer 1 IPv4 and an unlimited port (fair use) similar to what was on our linked plan?
Feel free to raise a ticket to discuss it further.
