Free KVM Contest/Beta Testing
Alright so we are expanding to KVM shortly, however I want some beta testers for the node and I want to save myself some time in setting up the node. That's where this thread comes in... I'm going to give away 5 of the plans bellow for 3 months. All you have to do is collect 5 ISO links from various distributions and post them here.
The rules: You can only post a NEW ISO so if someone has already posted Centos 5 x64 minimal you can't post it again. In addition you can't post the same OS twice (IE you can only have 1 centos link, 1 debian link, etc...) just to make it fair. The ISOs need to be usable for either server or VNC use.
Plan includes:
256 MB of RAM
1 CPU Core (@2.5 Ghz+)
25 GB of Storage
500 GB of Bandwidth
Yours for 3 months, assuming no abuse, $3.99 /Mo. there after. Setup should be completed in roughly 24 - 48 hours from your reply here (not guaranteed, but you will get the VPS relatively soon).
Once the first 5 are gone they are gone so please don't whine that you didn't get one... I'm trying to make something interesting out of it plus this makes a great list for other providers to pull from.
Comments
This is one of the most creative ideas to win something that I've read ever.
Was thinking about getting one xD But not enough time to play recently u_u
Thanks... figured I'd compile a list, save myself some time and get some ISOs that people want that are hidden in the wood work.

@fan, can't post the same OS twice.
@Kairus, just removed all 64bit ones, so this should be cleaner now. -- And completed all 5 slots.:P

yowmamasita cool, i like and use many of those or help ppl which are looking for speciffics, however, while it is based on centos 3, SME-Server should have been included IMO, especially since you put up clearos.

P.S. not taking part in any competition (I am BlueVM customer already), I just like and use SME-Server since 1999, it might be somewhat outdated, but is a proven piece of software and just does the job. You may want to put up the 8.0 version, tho, for MySQL 5, for example.

I am not sure PBX ones will likely be suitable for hosting on LEBs, same with clonezilla :P

LOL
Elastix 2.2.x is a very popular item in KVM, 256mb KVM is good for it, but 512mb seems more suited. Clonezilla is an awesome utility disk for managing your drive and taking backups, but System Rescue CD would be a better option.
+1 !!!!

Don't forget Openfiler, it is a very useful distribution to quickly setup a network storage.
The 2.3 release is more suited to LEB's: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openfiler/files/openfiler-distribution-iso-x86/openfiler-2.3-x86-disc1.iso
The latest version need a bit more resources: https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/openfiler/openfiler-distribution-iso-2.99-x64/openfileresa-2.99.1-x86_64-disc1.iso
Special-purpose distributions are very useful, but are not available in the iso library of most providers. For instance, I found Openfiler listed only on Hostigation control panel.
I love weird ISO's people request
IMO FreeNAS should be better than openfiler, tho not Linux and didnt even try openfiler in a production environment.
But, in theory it should do better.
I thought the purpose was to find some ISOs suitable for making images or installing in a LEB with KVM. I re-read the OP and I see there is no direct speciffication regarding that, but then I fail to see the reason of it...
M
Maybe on real hardware but on KVM FreeNAS doesn't ship with virtio

Thanks for your patience guys... They are hooking up our new servers now so hopefully I'll get them setup tonight or early tomorrow and thanks to those of you who participated. I'm going to be nice and give everyone who made an attempt at winning one of the VPS I mentioned. (so 10 in total)...
Just wondering, what's the status on this? I hope you didn't run into some major problem.
Still waiting on those nodes to be setup. Our DC providers are a little slow on the setup because they provide us boxes as they have them. Should have this node and a few others on or around March 22 if not sooner.
