Best Payment Gateway for local US Transactions for a Small Business
Hi all,
Being host to a lot of providers and Businesses, I wanted to get some suggestion in choosing a (best possible) Payment Gateway for a small business in Michigan.
The client will provide (Uber like) taxi transport services in Michigan, Ohio and Windsor (CA) via mobile App + Web App, and being a small business, with transactions from 30K to 50K USD a month, the client wants to choose a PG with minimum "cut" and any other add on charges.
They tried Pay Junction sometime back but the effective "cut" for payment processing went way upto 10%/12%.
I'm considering STRIPE and PAYPAL for now, but just wanted to share a thought with LET members here to have ideas from the provides here. We primarily need to charge local US residents only...atleast for now.
Please pour in your valuable inputs..
Thanks

My vote goes to stripe, big companies are putting $ in them so i'd say they have a promising future.

Uber uses braintree payments (paypal, cards, bitcoin, apple pay, android pay), they have good mobile integrations and you'll get the first 50k no transaction fee's.
If I may include @Nick_A, @AlexanderM, @Clouvider & @MarkTurner to share a line here...
Will be a great help !!
Given the level of drama around these taxi services, I'd suggest signing up to all. Then if one gets pressured into dropping your client, you just failover to the next one.
Thanks @MarkTurner... with that said, how would you prioritize the providers, like primary, secondary, tertiary .....
@mehargags I would recommend Braintree. They have excellent API and toolkit for mobiles. They do support Apple Pay natively which is a big plus. They have tools that will help with PCI Compliance. We are going to switch all CC to Braintree when releasing MyClouvider 3.0.
is this braintree you are referencing ?
Isn't it Paypal company ??
Braintree is owned by PayPal but offers an independent product.
