I got 2TB with the N2800. I think if you opt for the French location you'll have better chances than North America.
Got x2 KS1 last week so far working great
I'm using one as a seedbox. Look at the network performance (seedboxing limited to 10 Mbyte/s):
Why it keeps dropping like this?
It's a 6euro server ... does that sound like a fair enough reason?
Do you get any errors? Especially "File chunk write error: Cannot allocate memory"?
That may be an explanation but not much of a reason.
Well they're not for production purpose. That's why they say ... personal or sandbox.
Everyone's just draining the bandwidth on the cheap KS servers. Still more than decent for that price.
@BasementCluster
No errors actually.
@XTServers
It's cheap and I'm not complaining. Just wanted to know if everyone had similar performance or if it was an issue of mine.
I'd say almost everyone has them. I don't think it's an isolated case.
Or maybe it's something that can be fixed with a one line configuration change.
Or maybe hardware malfunctions somewhere (such as NIC or switch port) and they can fix it if asked in a ticket.
Or maybe their monitoring simply doesn't work too well and the bandwidth doesn't actually fall.
In any case, this doesn't appear normal and you can't simply hand-wave it with the price tag, this needs to be diagnosed and at least explained in terms such as perhaps packet loss, CPU load, memory usage, etc. And only from there you can further decide whether or not the problem is fixable either by you or by the host while staying within the price tag.
I suppose when the crap you peddle fails in whatever mysterious fashion and you get tickets from people, you don't try to investigate, just close them with "it's a 6 Euro server (and the price matches, amusingly), what did you expect..."
Really childish statement. The costs behind the 6euro are not the same, neither the products, but it's okay if that's what keeps your boat floating. I'll let you figure out the mystery of the universe now. #TOXICITYlevel5ooo
If I choose the daily graph instead of using the "hourly" one, I get this:
Which one should I trust? If I simply take a look at the torrent's client speed I can see the speed dropping from 10 Mbyte/s to 4 Mbyte/s and travelling among these values. However, it doesn't drop completely like in the first graph.
The KS-2 is actually € 9.99..
Is that the Kimsufi panel?
If so, you should consider monitoring the traffic yourself for a more accurate picture.
@Nekki
Yes that is the Kimsufi panel. I'll search for a more reliable alternative
EDIT: I've downloaded a linux iso with wget and i went smooth full bandwidth (11.2MB/s). I just guess torrent is a less reliable benchmark network tool.
i dont think u can get 10Mbit sustains in torrent because another user also seeding using 100mbps/1gbps port. thats how peering work.
Now they have
"Victim of its success!
Available soon."
Clone of online.net xD
I picked one up. So far happy with service. Had an old account that had VAT removed from it. Setup was about 3 minutes, give or take.
That is a say quite used in France in general.
Where does it say that? On http://www.kimsufi.com/us/en/ it just says "Currently being replenished."
He's talking about online.net
If anyone is intereted KS-2 is available in BHS
http://www.kimsufi.com/ca/en
https://ca.kimsufi.com SSL recognized as red, using Chrome.
Only for Canadian eh?
Seems to do the same from ca.soyoustart.com, us.soyoustart.com, us.kimsufi.com..
Unfortunately there's not much I can do about it:P
If it makes you feel safer you can order from https://www.kimsufi.com/en . KS-2 is available but it's in the EU.
Already have one and got 2TB HDD
Tried CA before, they doesn't accept Chinese but the EU one does.
In Quebec its more like qui and poutine
Suppose EU is for international.. but odd cause they dont offer BHS servers from their EU site anymore.
Sorry if mentioned earlier, but it looks like servers need to be cancelled before the 20th of each month now (previously, only Online.net had this).
I never opted in for automatic billing, in fact, I keep getting asked when I log in, however I seem to get charged automatically every time.
Previously, there wasn't an option to cancel Kimsufi - you just let them lapse. I noticed a cancel button in the panel now, which I tried on the last day of April. After clicking, it changed the expiry date to the end of May (was previously set to expire end of April), mentioning that cancellations after the 19th go to the next month.
Got an email about being 5EUR being due, and that I'd automatically be charged. But the credit card I put in is already expired. Interestingly, I still have access to my server.
Anyway, warning to everyone to cancel before the 20th!
KS 5 and 6 available now! But wth buys or needs them except for backup purpose?
There is no "Cancel button" in my panel...
I have it (Résilier--> from the French).
