Hi, is the public IP a floating/fixed IP? Meaning, when destroying a server and creating a new one, will it be assigned the same public IP?

  • If you destroy and create a new one near enough right away, you should end up with the same IP, but the safest way to ensure is to Rebuild Server rather then destroy and create a new one.

  • We plan to open Hong Kong and Jakarta in the next few weeks, and like Singapore, all prices and specs will be the same as all our other locations.

We've also an exciting roadmap for more regional locations in the second half of 2015, once we complete this build out phase (which includes Sydney, Australia).

  • So bad connection to China...

I hope HK will not be the same.

really doesn't get any cheaper than that :)

+1 for dediserve pricing AND support. James has been nothing but friendly+helpful. Also, the 24/7 support they advertise seems to be legit. I've never once not received a live chat operator no matter the time.

So a true persistent IP is not possible? Is this something you could do on a per request basis?
AFAIK OnAPP allows to allocate specific IP addresses to a user: https://docs.onapp.com/display/35AG/Assign+IP+Address+to+User

With dediserve reputation & quality, even the normal price for jakarta cloud surely gonna kill local cloud hosting in Indonesia hehe

  • Hello all, just being told from DS that IPv6 has been configured up and ready to go, perhaps you might want to open a ticket if necessary.

    Something is not right.

There are lots of packet losses (25~30%) at the moment.

I've tell dediserve before, still no answer :D [few post above]

  • We've an engineer checking in to the loss at the moment, which is hard to replicate, it's clear that half of LET are running networking benchmarks in the last 24 hours, as the traffic is quite insane :)

    Ping statistics for 104.145.239.50:Packets: Sent = 655, Received = 509, Lost = 146 (22% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 6ms, Maximum = 44ms, Average = 11ms

    Ping from Singnet.

Edit: Before someone comes in to say router/switch has lowest priority on ICMP, this loss thingy is also affecting SSH - it constantly freezes.
