Renting out servers.
Hey guys, I just recently upgraded a server and was wondering if anybody wants to rent the old one out.
AMD Phenom X3
10mbit
3GB ram
200gb HDD
I made four of these for VPS's and one of them is just sitting taking a nappy.
Anyways, if anybody wants it send me a monthly offer.
Comments
where is it located and what company?
Its located in San Diego, in-side my cab at Scalematrix.
Interesnting ........ mmm
shouldn't this go to the offers section?
LEB dedicated price offer so under $30
What would the price be?
I'll offer 20 bucks a month :P
How much do you want for it (monthly rent)?
@bijan588 What about remote reboots, OS installations, etc.? It would probably be easier for you just to sell the hardware or keep it.
To be hones what can we do with that ?
Its better than a Low end box :P
@bijan588
Lol ya it can be better than a LEB but good enough to be used for shared hosting? those 10mbit mmmm dont know.
wonder if i can take it for 25 sucks
On 100mbit I'd put that around $40-$50/m, that 10mbit really is killer. Just not much you can do with that, but maybe I'm not thinking small enough.
I think you can get better for less of you're really willing to go that route. Don't sell yourself short.
Can we get the IP of the server? I want to run a trace route.
I will give 15 dollars no more
@jarland
what can be better for less? an example please :P
He only has 100Mbit to his rack so he can only offer 10Mbit.
@Chrisk
probably you can help me it will bd enough to handle websites?
Simple words i wanna manage a shared hosting only for an specif group of clients.
Those 10mbits sill be able to handle it.
Read the text I quoted, might have to use your imagination
That is so awesome I missed it the first time too LOL
10Mbit are mooore than enough for many websites. Always remember 10Mbit would be about 3.3TB. You can use up to 1.25MB/s - show me those websites which need that with CSS/HTML files but that less cpu time that this cpu is enough.
I think this offer isn't that bad, but we need to know how much @bijan588 expect to get for it
@Amfy
Are static websites most of them only HTML, other guys work with Wordpress or a Custom CMS.
And those websites are portfolios, personal blogs, some store sites(books of amateur writers.)
If I'm understanding your question right, then it shouldn't really matter too much (atleast WordPress wise). Remember that PHP files are sent as HTML files for the end user :P
Mr. @HalfEatenPie
You are right I offered 15 dollars for it, now I have to wait for @bijan588 answer ...
Personally I would take it out of the rack and put something in it's place that will generate more than the $15 your going to get for this, and toss it on ebay. If you are not generating $200 per 1U of space you need to re-evaluate what is in that U, switch/router are exceptions.
I doubt he will do it for $15.. the colo alone must cost more than that..
I guess I should point out I bought it for an undisclosed amount.
Sorry guys :P
why @HalfEatenPie, why
I wanted it xD
@HalfEatenPie disclosed amount eh? well..
FTFY
Changed it. Doo Doo nozzle
