    Oh yea... I must do.

    It's so hard to get IPv6 work with Hetzner BTW.

  • Am glad to hear that jacob and wishing you all the best. Any domain hosted with thair server or you are still configuring the server?

  • Ow i understand. :)

    Oh? I had IPv6 connectivity from the start (right after installation), if that's what you mean. It randomly didn't work for ~6 hours though. Must have been a temporary error..

    Not plan to.. It's a R&D server.

    Yes, it is up from the start, but after reboot, sometimes I need to ping the IPv6 gateway (FE80::1, not sure why) to get it work, same thing for the KVM guests. But after it's up, it's quite stable for me. Hetzner routes all the addon IPs to the main IP, that's not usual as well.

  • FE80::1 is the gateway as it is matched on the router to the correct one. This is a feature of zeroconfig.

    OK I understand, but why I need to ping it to get the ipv6 work most of the time after reboot?

    You reminded me of something I found when my IPv6 wasn't working. I browsed my history and found it again:
    https://serverfault.com/questions/477471/ipv6-only-works-after-pinging-the-default-gateway

    Apparently you need to add "iface lo inet6 loopback" to /etc/network/interfaces.

    Strangely IPv6 isn't working for me at the moment (I did not reboot or anything). ping6 fe80::1 returns "connect: Invalid argument". Maybe I should try adding that line to /etc/network/interfaces as well..

  • Ok I fixed it temporarily with ping6 -I eth0 fe80::1.

    /etc/init.d/networking anything throws a grep error at me and I can't reboot now. Tell me if "iface lo inet6 loopback" in /etc/network/interfaces works for you, @jacobhere ?

    I saw the same post you mentioned, but no luck, adding "iface lo inet6 loopback" in /etc/network/interfaces didn't solve my problem.

    what I am doing is put "up ping6 -I eth0 -c 10 FE80::1" in /etc/network/interfaces ipv6 section.

  • Ok thanks I'll do that,too. ;D I wonder why it worked for me before? I have never pinged any gateway.

  • Maybe send certified mail to Tosin Bunar 7? The only way you can be 101% sure.

  • I'll ask some certified programmer from Belgrade (old friend) about that case, i lost only my time waiting and collecting

  • hard feelings ?

  • You are right that correct pib and address should be provided, but I have not seen that from a lot of VPS providers here.

    So far I received what I paid for and I will definitely come back in 6 months and tell you how it went. :) Or earlier, if something bad happened.

    It's not that I don't care, I have if you look back noted concern about this provider. However having said that you know nothing. What you are describing is more than half of the providers on the planet.

    In such an unregulated, toxic industry as web hosting where you can be a hosting "CEO" at 10 or 60, lie about your address, partner, owners, techs, hardware, fake the whois and so on, what you have listed says very little.

    I am not saying what you have listed is right, just largely normal. I could tell you of several providers that are well known here and on WHT where everything about their very existence is a lie. I am certain some reading this will have much of the data I have that has come about over the years about many providers, but you know what, people are happy, the service is good, so why rock the boat.

    Your comment about GVH says much about your intent here. You choose to compare with a company that has been proven without doubt to have lied and been intentionally deceitful.

    Now of course uniwebhosting may yet drop an actual fraud by running when they have enough money which seems to be the thought process, nothing surprises me in this industry anymore, so if it happens, it happens. I won't loose any sleep over it.

    alexvolk said: OK, don't cry then.

    I take it you can't prove any fraud in that case, that is all you had to say.
