  • Pingdom? But it's only free if you monitor a single server.

    StatusCake.com working well for me,
    but not vps/shared hosting.

I use statuscake for my vps's, I know it works also for shared (http/https monitoring).

You can create for free public reports page, just chose the green button "public reports" in the server's listing page.

    And all are free!

  • get a 2usd vps, write a small shell script which sends uptime report via sendmail and thats it

  • NodePing can do that.
    Here's a sample status page - https://status.nodeping.com/ (brandable)
With unlimited subaccounts (each getting their own status page) you can create as many logical separations of checks you need.

  • @NodePing Thanks! But prices is unreliable most time as well I tried research around the web..

If you like I can host it for you given some money compensation.

Here is what it looks like.

  • I use http://webcron.org . Monitor all my servers using this and setup alerts. It's only cost me £10.00 for the last 8 months (2 servers with 6 minute monitoring)

I don't understand what that means. Can you clarify?

There is a lot included in that one that isn't in michaels. However I suggest you look at the SS3 beta release.

  • @Mun said:

Is he at the beta stage already :0 I'm currently running alpha 5

  • Yeah, I'm running that one, history isn't yet included though

    The one I use are

    • Pingdom (for the main and important server as it offers a 1 min recheck period)
    • UptimeRobot (for all servers)
    • StatusCake (used to use it but dropped it)

There are many good uptime monitoring providers but they are not free or very limited. Pingdom got better. No more loads of false positives so far for my servers. UptimeRobot is pretty good but the 5 minute recheck period can be annoying. You get atleast around 5 mins downtime reported due to it even when the server was down for a normal reboot which may have taken like 30 seconds. StatusCake has a lot of options and that kind of fancy stuff (pretty cool actually but I dropped it).

You should always monitor with multiple services. It can always happen that one of the monitoring services has issues and isn't working properly so you get false positives. In this case it's good to have backup services running.

  • I use Nodequery.com

It´s very simple, but yet very complete.

It sends you an email when your server is not responding to pings and you can see the actual status (with a lot of infos) of all your servers in one page.

    I recommend it :)

  • Nodequery.com very beautiful UI

  • FredQc said: I use Nodequery.com

    Pretty cool thing for sure.

Going to install it on some of my VPSs.

  • What is the Nodequery memory usage? I have a 64MB box.

It's a small bash script ran every 3 minutes with cronie. Rather small memory footprint.

  • just installed nodequery. Its rather good and very easy to install

  • Already tried Nodequery few days ago, but external page not supported at this time? Will be fine as feature request..:)

  • If you want something like Nodequery you can also try New Relic.
