Noted and we've already reached out as I said.
Earlier this evening I was discussing with Jessie about getting a 2nd router
in place for failover but it's going to just be a repeat of the same thing if I
throw in another Linux box.
I was going to the states for a vacation this weekend in California so there's
a good chance I'll just head to Vegas for a day and handle that all.
We'll know more come morning.
Francisco
Didn't you already have some big fat brocade? I remember some pics...
@Francisco If something goes wrong in LV that affects the management panel and billing, perhaps you should consider sending emails to the NJ customers too, because these services affect us too, even though our VPS are up.
ignore me, major time lag for some reason.
IPv6 is still down actually.
That's just a SuperX. It handles all of our L2 and it handles like a complete beast.
I love that thing to death and it's never let us down or given a bit of attitude.
As I said, though, it only does L2 well, L3 performance is really poor since it's all
switched in software.
I've always opt'd for linux boxes just because it makes working with our autonull
a frick load easier. I hate dealing with port mirrors and all that crap but at this
point we really have no choice in the matter.
@IPN - I'm sorry. The previous maints we sent notification over. This one things
went tits up and we said screw it and started scratch. Again. We're back in
familiar waters (vyatta), though I have a ton of debian experience so it wasn't
a configuration error on my part.
As of right now things are all back to normal. Latency is smooth, filtering is happy, etc.
We'll send a post-mortem in the morning as well as plans for what we're
going to do to make this right.
Francisco
IPv6 is still down as it seems.
All fixed
Francisco
Works now. Thanks!
I'll give a closing remark on this.
What's most frustrating in this is that this platform was fine for upwards of 240 days (the longest uptime run). No issues, no real lag minus some very large floods, etc.
We never really figured out the issues that happened in February and the latest ones have been a huge headache.
I'm just annoyed to say the least.
Francisco
BuyVM now have free inbound bandwidth.
really?
Yes, check Stallion.
I fucking love you @Francisco
Seconded.
Is there still an issue?!? My server seems to have been down for hours... still down now... and https://manage.buyvm.net/ is also down right now. Vegas datacenter.
I am very upset about this.
confirmed...down for me as well
yep down again this is indeed getting frustrating..time to look at other alternatives..=(
I have backups and redundant systems so I am not losing anything with the downtime. Upset because of how long it seems to be taking to fix the issues, and there's no notification about the current outage right now.
Yes, down right now
how do you use redundancy on shared? you are not using their ns?
My VPS is down for a while. It sounds bad... The client area is also down.
wow, free incoming B/W ? rock on francisco !
Yup, when it is working xD
Today is Murphy's day to pick on me. My main server that I do all of my work from is with Dacentec who has been dropping offline all morning and my backup server that I use when Dacentec is acting up is with BuyVM.
My VPS is up again!. The client area is is still down
Sigh down again. Getting tired of this
Not me. Been down since 11:30am CDT and still down. This is in addition to the outage 2:30am to 4:45am CDT earlier today. (Times are estimates based on log entries)
What are you replacing the Vyatta with? Cisco?
Has it just gone down again?
