  • Well, still doesn't allow client to set disk driver as VirtIO...

  • I updated our installation. After clearing browser cache, seems to be working okay.

Just upgraded. I hope they have fixed loads of the annoying template bugs where everything goes outside of the widgets.

    Update
    Looks like they have.

  • jhjh Member

    Yeah looks good!

  • Apart from a note part at the top, yeah.

  • Running fine here too :-)
Looks like its the stable version.. nothing about BETA here.

  • JacobJacob Member

Woah, I really like the notes thing at the top! Nice...

  • We are going to do the update tonight on our master server.

  • @Jacob just for your information my password stopped working since you updated it I recovered it and its fine now.

@Taylor Yah, I have a few tickets saying clients are getting booted out when enabling tun / ppp modules.

Going to check it out when I am back on my desktop.

Enabling PPP on a VPS requires a reboot to my knowledge. At least when I was doing it manually it did (don't see how SolusVM can get around this).

That being said, we've been running 1.10 for a few weeks now and it's been great (<3 PowerDNS).

  • Changing from 1.10.00 beta R4 to 1.10.00 last night, solus tripped all over itself and went splat. Why on earth are there changes not in R4? That is not how a beta should be run at all

    What happened?

  • Any big differences besides the new DNS?

  • @prometeus said: What happened?

I think in the end lighttpd on one of the nodes flaked and solus isn't smart enough to timeout if a node takes too long to respond if it at least connects, so the load was like 50 on the master with like 50 cron's running to check the same node. I restarted lighttpd on that node and on the master and everything cleared itself out in a few seconds.

Did you read the changelog or release notes? It is a very long list.

  • @KuJoe said: PowerDNS

Haven't touched that thing for a long time, but I think it takes pretty much memory, even more than that of BIND, isn't it?

    o_O! Lots of changes.

Any idea what hosts have upgraded?

Edit: There is no way for the clients to know the version right?

  • We upgraded last night ... but are on the way to migrate to onapp so it is pointless.

I don't think there is a way clients can know if the system has been updated.

  • Upgraded, looks good. Just remember to send your customers an email saying to flush their cache if they have an issue =)

I think that's only for the admin area, the client area should be the same (just with more options).

Updated from the last beta, no issues so far...

  • Hasn't the login page for the admin area changed?

So you can just check if your host has the new login page for Admin area, and if its the new one then its updated.

  • I'm surprised they didn't screw anything up this time...

The problems I riased in the beta that still exist

    • No client control of virtio disk (going on 2 major versions for this now)
    • Assigning clients to a forward powerdns plan makes them immune to deletion by the current WHMCS plugin
  • Thanks for the changelog.

  • @miTgiB said: No client control of virtio disk

I think client has control over this.

  • @BassHost said: I think client has control over this.

Nope, just a network card chooser. (with virtio-net as an option)

  • You are correct ... just checked our test node.

  • What I dont understand and it would be easy is to just work with cPanel's DNS clusters. Most hosts already have a set of them unless they do only VPS's.
