I got 55 of load on a 512mb/4core vps.
251? That's nothing.
One of our buffalo nodes reached a load of 312 last week when the IO was being blown up by an abuser.

I had a load once of 22K 15m avarage, due to the IO timeouts thanks to my dead HDD xD

How can you possibly get that load?!
25K was my biggest, was waiting like 50 minutes for the 'uptime' command to be returned.
Just go mining and your load will burst like a sunny hot day.
Remember that load is a measurement of the overall "traffic" picture all your CPUs/threads.
