Hello!,

I'm Alexander from HostUS, HostUS is owned by HostUS Solutions LTD, registered in Scotland, United Kingdom. We treat each and every one of our clients with the utmost respect that they highly deserve, and we treat and care for their websites as if it was our own site.

Typical virtual private servers are costly and are oversold, which make them slow and unresponsive. HostUS powered OpenVZ servers ensure that there is no over-selling, and that performance is available 24/7 on demand by the customer. Handle very large amounts of data processing with extremely powerful dual processor server nodes, powered by RAID10 with a BBU disk configuration. All our nodes are connected with 2 x 1 Gbps ports (Bonded) and each VPS is limited to 700Mbit/s. We own and operate most our hardware such as our primary switch; Juniper EX3200-24T Switch with a 10 Gbps uplink.

  • speedtest file ?

  • I don't believe we have one on hand right now but if you ticket in, we can get you one as soon as possible.

  • Is HostUS and GreenValueHost the same company? It's very confusing when one "provider" posts an offer, and another "provider" jumps in to answer all the questions -- using the term "we".

HostUS and GreenValueHost are completely separate companies, separately owned however we have a financial relationship with HostUS and provide them with support. I'm just trying to help out here since we have access to everything.

  • Well if you "have access to everything" then things are hardly "completely separate", are they? ;)

You guys pretty much have the same offers. Don't get me wrong... having a lot of resources is nice, but my VPS I have through GVH is pretty much unusable right now so I've kept it idle the whole month. The other day my download speed was at like 400KB/s and my IO speed hasn't been anywhere near 'powerful.' Maybe I'm expecting too much out of SATA, I don't know. Or there is a lot of abusers on a node. I'll leave that to you to figure out I guess.

Can you ticket in and/or email me please? I will have a look at it. Speeds should be a lot better than that, we've deployed new nodes recently and the average was around 280mb/s

HostUS offers Atlanta for VPSes while GVH does not.

Could be a lot of people benchmarking at the same time.

They're trying to solve my issue getting like 40MB/s IO speed on the node I'm on.

So @GreenValueHost if this is a true 'financial relationship' I am curious to know if GVH has signed any Non Disclosure Agreements (legal binding documents) regarding customers private information? You know, those documents which protect HostUS customers, allows you access to HostUs client information and requires your company not to disclose any private information or use it for GVH's financial gain without the permission of HostUs and their customers directly? Especially since GVH does not own HostUs but is merely a financial backer and a separate company? You do realize if not this could be a breech in HostUs customers trust and their private information as they did not give GVH permission to utilize their personal information when making a contract for services with HostUS? Mostly asking since you seem to like to muddy the waters by using your GVH brand name in HostUS related advertising and threads. Wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea.... would you?

OR, are you being legally contracted by HostUS to provide said technical support, in which case I would expect said contract to include said conditions already?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Cheers!

You should expect speeds to be 700Mbit/s max as we limit the max bandwidth. you seem to be getting 800Mbit/s so that's great to hear.

That is certainly not one of our node's, all out nodes get on average 200MB/s plus with this node doing 300MB/s to 500MB/s.

  • yeah i was happy with this vps, as long as i dont get trouble of up and down :(
