Nice offer M, I want to learn FreeBSD, did the Xen have FreeBSD? Or it have to be KVM?

Xen can have BSD without problems on HVM (ours is PV for lower overhead and faster VM) but there are attempts to put bsd in xen-pv too. That is experimental, though.

  • For €6 annualy, I'll bite. Nice to see these lowend plans back in fashion. Be nice to see some outside of the US, but I guess that might be asking a little too much financially.

Unfortunately, IPs will soon be scarce in US too, so this will probably be the last batches before IPv4 shortage hits ARIN too.

  • @prometeus @Maounique you should consider becoming an ARIN member before it's too late.

ARIN is overrated, we go to APNIC...

Yeah, Lampedusa is technically in Africa on geography criteria: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lampedusa

Will see if AFRINIC will accept that as an argument for sending us one of the extra /8

  • 50MB RAM,
    VSwap 60MB,
    2GB SSD

    lol.It's real a lowendbox.

Oops, that's a typo, it is 50 MB vswap. Corrected, sorry...

  • Please forgive me for the unclear question :D
Did this xen offer, have freebsd template?

  • No non-PayPal payment methods? :(

Working on that, please open a ticket after you place an order (otherwise stock might be over by the time we sort it out).

No, it is experimental, not ready for production and with the new HVM-PV approach by xen team, will probably be obsolete so abandoned.

  • Can one expect apt-get update to work on such low RAM boxes?

  • MaouniqueMaounique Host Rep, Veteran

yes, it does. Yum might have some issues, though.

  • MaouniqueMaounique Host Rep, Veteran

well, it was good while it lasted, due to the exploit, WHMCS took a short vacation until things are more clear.

  • can we still order?

  • netomxnetomx Moderator, Veteran

    What exploit?

  • MaouniqueMaounique Host Rep, Veteran
    edited October 2013

Nope, orders can only be placed in WHMCS, for emergencies, please open a ticket in iperweb ltd's panel (www.iperweb.com) as that is hostbill and not affected by this vulnerability.

Plenty of KVM here: www.iwstack.com where you can use own ISO and all.
We do these as a variation because people were asking something else too.

KVM very likely will come with the iwStack deploy later, so I'm not sure if we'll do it...
