  • Someone is lying, I got money on the host. Linux, generally, doesn't lie when it reports hardware information.

Older versions of QEMU report newer Ryzen CPUs (5) as AMD EPYC Milan.

single core 5950x should be around 1500 based on my exp,

    edit:
just check the gb5 data, it should be like 1700+ single core

  • They may be limiting the CPU power, or perhaps the node is overloaded.

Here's one of mine for comparison:

Can't wait for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS then. My current kernel version is 5.4, in line with Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS.

  • On this particular VPS I'm using Debian stable (bullseye) but with a backported kernel, and the newer kernel added around 100 points to the Geekbench score.

Sorry for necroposting but just wanted to let everyone know that when using Linux in a virtualized environment it depends on the software controlling the server. I'm taking that since space-hosting.net is advertising as a Ryzen 9 5950X, it could well be the CPU.

Basically, it depends on if cpu-passthrough or passthrough is enabled. Some software takes a guess at what CPU is being used on the master node and outputs that to the container.

I would take this up with space-hosting.net, to see what they have to say about that.
