So far, for 1,80 € i'm quite happy.

If you remove ipv4 then it will be around like 0.37 Euro month. By the way, isn't the network speed 100Mbps?
They said 100 Mbit. Seems its unlimited incoming and 300 Mbit outgoing. Thats why i wanted to share. Its a really good offer IMHO, if you know how to deal with limited resources
I spun up and instance without ipv4 and yabs looks great.
https://pastebin.com/raw/5cYh1ALV
Its 100mbps on average if sustained over the entire month. You can burst quite happily, but don't expect that speed 24/7.
You can also use IPv6 only for your instance.
Then create a new VPC beta to get IPv4 and map it to the instance. VPC is at beta stage so IPv4 is free.
So you will get 0.37 EURO / month VPS with IPv4 and IPv6...
Any link to that offer? Clicking on online.net does not reveal anything, Google-fu for "stardust online.net" shows Netflix :P
Scaleway for the win!
Probably because they're now "Scaleway"
https://www.scaleway.com/en/stardust-instances/
How do I get this instance?
I dont see it anywhere after logging into the console.
Is there like a notification email that I can subscribe to?
it's https://www.scaleway.com/en/pricing/ Stardust Instance
Thanks, that works.
I knew they re-branded back to scaleway and when going to online.net you are on the 'scaleway' website... but scaleway dedibox, not scaleway elements. That is ultra stupid branding it seems - there is no way to jump to 'elements' from online.net redirect... or it's hidden somewhere deep, lol.
great
Their billing system seems wrong, their support person seems didn't understand math
Instance price is 0.37 Euro per month: https://i.imgur.com/qbH7y51.png
I created 2 instances:
And this month I got invoice with 0.9 Euro.
(2 * 0.37 Euro if I use 2 instances for full month = 0.74 Euro)
I asked support how can it possible, with a lot of calculations and headaches, I gave up.
If you have premium services with them, you should check too.
Maybe it is incremental billing applied there. You pay for the remaining days of the current month + 1 month after. After that, the billing goes normal in the next invoice.
No, their invoice is very clearly about how many minutes I used for August.
Did you stop and restart the instances? Or reboot via panel?
Could you post your invoice screenshot?
Yes, I did remove and recreate many times (But less than 15). Here are screenshots of what they charged:
Here is my calculation:
I used 2 instances with total:
39.480 minutes
22690 minutes
Total: 62.160 minutes = 1036 hours.
1036 hours mutiply with €0.00052 per hour = €0.53872
€0.00052 is the total of:
€0.0004/hour for the 10 GB of local storage
€0.00012/hour for the instance
(Detail from here: https://www.scaleway.com/en/faq/how-am-i-billed-for-scaleway-elements-services/)
Why has AMS1 23 resources? I also have two stardust instances for the whole month and it just says AMS1 1 resource, PAR1 1 resource on my invoice.
Yes, because I deleted and recreated 23 times maybe?
Support said that I created 10 - 15 mins then deleted. So it will be charged 23 hours.
Even with 23 hours more. Less than a full day. It will still less than: 2 * 0.37 Euro per month.
My guess is that each time you do this, the accrued charge is being finalized and rounded up to 0.01 Euro.
And with 23 restarts it becomes easier to see where the extra 0.23 or so come from.
With just ipv6, how can I access the vps over ipv4 only? My ISP (Verizon) is still thinking on dual stack implementation... and it may happen in the next century if not earlier.
Any help is appreciated!
@yoursunny wrote a decent guide here.
Another option would be an IPv6 tunnelbroker, but it's a game of luck whether those work for residential connections. Esp. if your ISP uses some cheap, proprietary router or CGNAT, you're doomed.
Download Cloudflare Warp https://1.1.1.1/ it will give you IPv6 connectivity.
that's right, but remember to point port forwarding NAT
I just try this, and very interesting
Would love to see how it works. Cab you share some more details? Thnx @giang
You can take a look at their docs: https://www.scaleway.com/en/docs/network/vpc/how-to/create-a-public-gateway/
It's beta so it's free for now.
basically
Internet => Public Gateway => Private Network => VM
boom.. free ipv4
Yeah that's not good. Hetzner doesn't do that. Their pricing page shows all other instances cost at least 0.01, so they just used that.
Then they should round up their hourly price to 0.01 instead 0.0005
Then, when the beta is over, we have to pay money or no ipv4 🙄
