looking for provider that doesnt respond to abuse reports

edited May 2021 in Requests

hello, i run an imageboard (style of website similar to 4chan)

the content on my website may be disturbing, but i have a strict policy of NO CP
for example, there is gore, loli hentai, and possible dmca content
my goal is for the users to have as little rules as possible.

i am looking for a vps under $5 (preferably under $4) with the following specs:

VZ Type: whatever is the cheapest/most available

Number of Cores: 1 (hopefully 2)
RAM: 1.5gb+
Disk Space: 50gb (preferably 100gb)
Disk Type: any

Bandwidth: 1tb bare minimum
Port Speed: at least 100mbps

DDoS Protection: yes

Number of IPs: 1 ipv4, no ipv6 needed

Location: no requirement

Billing period: monthly needed

So, if the host doesn't response to abuse reports and their local police raids the host,

will you pay for the damage?

what i mean is that im not hosting anything super bad
but many hosts do not allow porn let alone gore and other things like i said in my post

  • deankdeank Member, Troll

    Does not matter.

Will you pay for the damage you may cause your host by asking them to completely ignore abuse reports?

There have been some hosts here that got raided recently. So, it is a real possibility as well as a responsibility for someone to pay.

  • i am asking for a host that already has that sort of policy
i am not try to "convert" any host to do something different, i am just looking for a host like i asked in my post.

What you are saying does not correspond to what the thread title says.

    I guess that says all.

  • what? i said i am looking for a provider that does not respond to abuse reports. im not telling all providers to stop, i am just saying that i am looking for those that do not respond to these sorts of of reports.

  • deankdeank Member, Troll

You are looking for a host that does not response to abuse reports. That is the thread title.

You - are - telling providers to stop.

  • i am looking for those that have that sort of policy. i am not encouraging anyone to change their behavior, i am just looking for those who dont usually respond

  • deankdeank Member, Troll

And I assume you aren't willing to pay for damage if your host gets raided or something.

That's all they need to know.

You're going to need to pay much more than $5 for this.

    how much do you think?

  • deankdeank Member, Troll

Nah, 5 bucks is enough if he signs a clause that he will pay for the damage.

I'm not the right person to ask about this, but the extra risk factor involved wouldn't make it worthwhile for $5. ($5 is for the case where abuse isn't tolerated.)

I guess that some people would suggest BuyVM, but it sounds like you're really testing the limits, so I'm not so sure. You may need to venture into the east, for example, a provider like AlexHost may be inclined to not respond to abuse reports, but be aware that any such provider will have their breaking point.

What OP wants to do, it will attract abuse/copyright reports like flies attracted to a rotten piece of meat.

Never gonna fly unless he is willing to response to abuse reports rather than blatantly ignoring it.

  • i guess i should update that to say that i just am looking for a provider that wont immediately terminate me
99% of the content on my site is completely normal things, 0.5% contains gore or other controversial content, and 0.5% contains content which may violate dmca

Couldn't you avoid the issue by connecting any regular box through a vpn provider that doesn't respond to the abuse complaints?

Are there any VPNs that port-forwards 80 and 443?

@funy_arabian52 I would suggest at that point looking into Colo options but even still your options will be limited.
I'm just going off what 4chan and other "high profile" sites have/should done/do.

  • errheaderrhead Member

Sanvit,My pureVPN does, but that's with a static IP, otherwise you may need to use :6969 or whatever port you can forward

I used have this kind of services in Netherlands. Until the upstream kick the whole racks out and the provider deadpool.

Providers will hate me for suggesting this but what about using a reputable provider for hosting the site and setup a reverse proxy elsewhere on a DMCA ignored/super cheap host. Worst case you can easily redeploy the proxy elsewhere.

And how is that gonna help any? Your "isp" and/or colo provider will still forward those to you and cut you off in the end.

Some do. Some don't. Look how many times TPB has been tried to be killed off. It's still up.

How many providers has it had so far? Also tpb isn't run by the same people anymore either.

OVPN with static IP, $3/month plus the vpn fee. Works like a charm!

  • I don't know why so many people here are freaking out. This is a simple request. If you are a host, and this sounds outrageous to you, then simply your company is not a good fit. Move on no big deal. For any hosts that sound like this is fine for you, I recommend contacting the OP directly to avoid unwanted attention.
