Russia reliable VPS/provider recommendations?

miumiu Member
edited April 2021 in Providers

Hello

I am suffered 3 times with 3 RU VPS providers what i have yet tried.

Pls, Any recommendations for RELIABLE & STABLE providers and CHEAP/low end KVM VPSes in RU meet:

  • KVM virt, no expensive, low end (no required fast CPU, huge RAM or fast disks)
(for example: cheap VPS under 2.50$/m w cfg at the least from 512RAM, 10GB HDD, 1vcore, 200GB BW, 100+Mbit)

  • mainly what is required is GOOD UPTIME (no restart every second day or found server hard rebooted/powered off) , reliable network (not unreachable from net every week), and OVERALL RELIABILITY & STABILITY (no eversold nodes, HW issues etc.), no deleted whole VM by mistake..., no IPv4 change 3x yearly...

  • network also not must be rocket (not necessary 1gbit or 10g, 100 mbit is also sure enough)

  • BTC payment option

thank you for all recommendations

  • Which 3 did you try? I am using Justhost with 99.97% uptime measured by Hetrix.

Unfortunately Justhost is there (sveral times not clean rebooted VPS found, network problems, problems ever install OS from ISO, not reliable has to me, headaches)
I fed 5 VPSes at them, then i have cancelled all (when lost patience / got frustration)
I said from my experiences, if u have different/other, ok i do not deny it or maybe I was unlucky again

I found this page but leaved it because i do not found there clearly said if it is KVM or containers.. (i hate it when is not defined basic properties)

    1) Can you pls confirm they are KVMs?
    2) any iwn experiences with them (if are they stable etc.)?

    Thank you

UPDATE: now i see another issues:
    https://vscale.io/en/pmethods.html
BTC not accepted and what they require from customers (bellow mentioned) is a bit useless paranoid imo

Don't believe any Russian or Romanian low end provider has a reliable VPS. All the ones I've tried were unusable with almost 100% steal.

    1-) https://vscale.io/en/help.html

What virtualization technology does Vscale use?
    We use KVM.

2-) I tried them 2.5 years ago. I had a VPS with them and it was stable. There wasn't any downtime or network issue.

Vscale is a service from Selectel, a reliable and professional Russian ISP.

They use KVM and the platform is fine, but has not been improved/updated over the years. Still, they are a good option. No crypto payment. Russian censorship is applied in their network.

VDSina is a decent option, iHor not really.

But Vscale and VDSina do not offer services for less than $2.50/month as you request. If you increase your budget a bit you would have many more reliable options.

What server did you get, what you hosting on it, and how much steal on average / worst case?

  • You can also try ruvds.com :)

  • Veesp has been pretty good for my use case (torrent proxy) not a single issue, the only issue I have is the 200 mbps line! but unmetered!

I don't have much idea about it. I got 55 Rubles VPS (0.75 USD). Hosted 4 WP blogs with little to no traffic. So far everything working fine.

I don't doubt others' experience. For me,

    $ uptime
     10:07:59 up 177 days, 16:17, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

    Steal 7% average since boot.

That's on Justhost? Either you got very lucky with your node, or maybe you're just idling so they aren't throttling you and maxing the steal.

My experience with them was after a very long painful setup process which wasted hours of my time, I got a server in the wrong location, and as soon as I started the first thing up, my "high frequency CPU" had constant 60 - 80% steal with the whole OS freezing all the time, making it completely unusable.

Yeah it is Justhost. I've got two VPS, the other in a different location has 6% steal, but that's newer so only averaged over a few weeks.

    $ uptime
     10:52:17 up 18 days, 8:07, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

I've got a web server running on both of them, but low traffic, so you could be right that I am below some throttle level.

In fact I benchmarked and reviewed a couple of russian VPS providers -> https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/168939/benchmarks-review-4-russian-providers-cheap-vps#latest
My personal choice (in the cheap segment): ihor hosting.

    +1 for Veesp (Vstoike) @Veesp

I have a promo VPS with them since 2016, and I'm really satisfied with it. Good uptime, reliable service. They send email notifications about the planned maintenances, network outages. My IP address not changed since the order.

Yes, Veesp is a good provider but unfortunately they are not really cheap anymore, bang for the buck is quite low.
