I applied the promo code, but my bandwidth and port speed didn't change. Will I receive the free upgrades?

  • I placed an order during your last special in March, but the RepriseGGDED wasn't available for discount during that time. Can I upgrade my RepriseEEDED to the RepriseGGDED?

  • BrianHarrisonBrianHarrison Member, Patron Provider

@ankursharma8715 Yes, you may upgrade and you would receive a pro-rated credit for the unused days on your existing subscription period. However, because the CPUs in the RepriseGGDED are a newer generation it means that you would need to migrate to a physically new server. Please let me know if I may answer any other questions!

    Except that there is no:
-"Spam this thread to get free shit" gig
-No previous exit scams involved with this company under different names

This is an actually reputable host that has been around for a while. Basically has absolutely nothing to do with racknerds/alpharacks.

  • I'll also toss in a vouch. @BrianHarrison is a well-known provider that has been around for quite a while. For the record, I don't even know if they hold a single DA license.

I don't think @Sebster27 is being antagonistic or anything, maybe just pointing out similarity in posting styles. I doubt he would want a legitimate host to be punished.

This is actually the typical posting style you see on wht. Racknerd posts do remind me of wht but they are a bit toned down. Go look through some wht ads and you will see what I mean.

Sorry, should’ve clarified. Don’t mean any harm and disrespect to either providers. Just pointing out similarities between this post and what I’ve seen in RackNerds. If it works for sales, I don’t mind what it looks like. No disrespect.

Is it possible to get 2x240GB SSD and 2x1TB HDD in one server, or are there insufficient drive bays for that?

    Hi Daniel,

It depends on the particular chassis, but with our RepriseGDED/RepriseGGDED servers we can support up to 6 drives per server. For the EDED and ZDED servers, 3 drives is the maximum. Our most common 3 drive configuration is 2x SSDs in RAID1 and then a single 1TB HDD for backup storage.

Please let me know if I may answer any other questions, thanks!

@dopogio Oof, yeah that's not great. I see two problems. First your ping time has already hit 84ms (!!!) before it even leaves Florida and second, your ISP is sending your traffic over Cogent to cross the USA. Cogent is probably the last network that I'd want my outbound traffic to cross the country with.

Seems like you are at 84ms by the time you get out of hotlineservers. I'm guessing you are not in Miami, but instead using a VPN/VPS in Miami?

For what it's worth, here is what the return path from Reprise Hosting to 158.51.113.1 (the fourth hop in your trace) looks like:

You can see that the HE path is more sane than the Cogent path -- more direct, fewer hops and less physical distance travelled. 78ms is a pretty reasonable ping time when going from the northwest corner to the southeast corner of the USA. However, the ping time could probably be a bit lower if your ISP wasn't using Cogent to go from Miami to Seattle.

Great offer, I would have bought for sure, but sadly I only need servers in Europe :disappointed:

Just for future reference, do You allow extra traffic for additional fee? Also you posted the price for 1TB drives, do you happen to have 2TB and 4TB drives? May I know the prices?

@ankursharma8715 Yes, you may upgrade and you would receive a pro-rated credit for the unused days on your existing subscription period. However, because the CPUs in the RepriseGGDED are a newer generation it means that you would need to migrate to a physically new server. Please let me know if I may answer any other questions!

Darn, I was hoping to avoid a server migration, but thanks for the info. I've been enjoying my server so far, thanks for the service.

It's best to get in touch with us over our ticket system for an exact quote. Different chassis support different drives. For example, the RepriseGGDED above only accepts SFF drives and we only offer 1TB HDDs (as well as SSDs). For our other servers where 3.5" drives are supported, 2TB HDDs are available and are often offered as a few upgrade for those seeking a custom quote.

    Thanked by 1afn

A migration is required, but fortunately your server does have cPanel so we can handle the migration on your behalf free of charge if/when you decide to upgrade to the RepriseGGDED.
