cpanel under proxmoxVE
Dear all,
Currently i'm experimenting with cpanel under proxmoxVE and i run pfsense as firewall (and manage nat things).
- done installing vm with cpanel (i'm tring to create another vm has same public ip address detected)
- but cpanel licence wrong detect public ip address (already mapped from pfsense) ip address local and public ip address
- cannot solved with /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeylt because vm detected using other than public ip address (configured at pfsense)
i need englightment to solve this problem, so cpanel can detect the right public ip address.
Thank you

On the cpanel VM - when you do an "ip a" what ip address is showing?
it show ip local
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP group default qlen 1000
link/ether 8a:3e:98:77:af:f6 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet 10.100.2.1/20 brd 10.100.15.255 scope global eth0
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
inet6 fe80::883e:98ff:fe77:aff6/64 scope link
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
@logaritse so the issue here is your cpanel vm is getting an internal IP and not an external.
vm detected wrong public ip address. other vm also detected to same public ip address
vm 1 ip local (eg. 10.100.2.1) public 1.1.1.1 (but i have mapped 1.2.3.4)
vm 2 ip local (eg. 10.200.2.2) public 1.1.1.1 (mapped to 1.2.3.5)
so both detected same ip public address (from cpanel licence)
The VM has to have the IP directly on the OS.
As far as I know you are unable to map IPs and have cPanel see it correctly.
Tried their knowledgebase on this matter?
https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/general-systems-administration/1-1-nat/
Yes, i reading that KB too but still have this issue. But its kinda awkward, i experience this with proxmoxVE but with vmware ESX 6.x work
