Hello Sisters !

Today we have the pleasure to tell you we have add a nice peering to our network (Telia Upstream) for Oradea and Bucharest location , so let celebrate with a crazy offer :

1 ipv4
price 76 eur/year : https://secure.hostsolutions.ro/cart.php?a=add&pid=579

PLEASE NOTE : this is a verry limited quantity because we will dedicate only 2 nodes for this offer , also is a pre-order and we can tard up to 1 week in provide this so please do not open tikets asking when we will activate it because i will directly refund and you will lost your chanse to have it, after provided we will change the next due date . Any question please feel free to ask.

Edit : once you get the vm activated you must to go to client area and mount the second disk of 3.6 tb . The vps by default will see only the 50gb nvme.

Like I said just before, this isn't this offer. I was referring to this shitty network speed because it's in the same location.

You win and lose something.. always :warning: I guess with the price point it's slightly harder to complain. As similar offerings are not many outside BF202X-CM202X period(s).

Will post a run of the benchmark script, when VPS is ready.

Main point of the sale was the network upgrade. Upgrade down show up.

Their cpu sucks so that you cannot get a reasonable port speed.

IMHO other then lacking IPv6 (two months) I think @cociu has come a long way.
CPU, NVMe are real fast and uptime has been better in comparison to offers from the last few years.

Disclosure: I've got early access to a specimen for testing and have a bit over 100 result sets to base an opinion on.

Background story: a common friend heard @cociu talking about "going towards quality, very seriously!", but having quite some years of experience with HostSolutions my friend had, uhm, some reservations. So, cociu who knew about me being a friend and colleague of his friend said something along the lines of "How about I give jsg access (to different products I presume) for 3 months and he benchmarks the hell out of the systems and also watches carefully how fast and good and efficient we work (especially support) and then publishes his findings?" - under one condition and only one condition: I must publish a final review after 3 months. I'm free though to also report about my findings along the way.
The specimen reported about here however is not one officially provided for testing but one of my friend and I got his permission to run my benchmark on it for a while. The node is located in Bucharest.

Right now I don't feel like offering a full review though because obviously I first want to collect some result sets with Telia on the back end. Plus, wink wink, nudge, nudge, there might be yet another pleasant surprise incoming ...

Regarding the cold hard facts, the numbers, I'm quite satisfied.
The processor is 2 vCores of a E5-2680 at 2.4 GHz, memory is 2 GB, and the disk is a 50 GB NVMe (just like the offer here minus the large TB storage).

Single core performance is 290 avg. with low spread (95.9% to 102.6 %). Multicore is a very nice 574.5 with very slightly higher spread.
The disk numbers are good but frankly a bit less than what I'd expect from a NVMe. My friend tells me though that cociu's people have still been looking at fine tuning some screws. Again, please keep in mind that the test specimen was provided very early, way before GA.

The network numbers are really OK but not (yet, I guess) great. So, I'll come with a full review in a couple of days and a presumably seriously upgraded network back end.

Side note: Communication and support was consistently good to great and quite fast since quite a while. It seems cociu is going for a higher league and from what I've seen so far his chances are quite good.

  • @jsg thanks , like i have told i will wait the feed back in 3 month , good or better for me will import much because if have place to improve definitely all my equipe will focus in this. And yes is true we are focused only in quality and for this we have not been in hurry to open another locations because once we have a model is easy to replicate to each location up to 20 this year i hope !

  • @jsg said: Single core performance is 290 avg. with low spread (95.9% to 102.6 %). Multicore is a very nice 574.5 with very slightly higher spread.

This doesn't sound right for Geekbench 5. Shouldn't the 2680 v4 be around 600+ for single core and approx. double that for multi core?

Hint: I'm using a real benchmark software and I'm not (interested in or) doing one shot "benchmarks" but I do 100+ runs at different (and unpredictable) times of day (and night).

Got it, so these scores cant be compared. Eagerly waiting for your review even though I couldn't resist and already splurged on this deal.

The full review will come soon(TM), but I want a good number of samples with the new Telia back end.

As for the deal here, brutally summarizing it: YES go for it! Even if the 3.6 TB disks were slow (which they are likely not) a price of €6.33/mo is easily justified ... plus a generous 50 GB NVMe, albeit not the fastest one but still faster than virtually all SSDs out there ... plus 2 vCores of a very decent processor (yes, there is life outside of Zen and I like the E5-26xx V4 a lot) you can't go wrong buying this promo. It's definitely a clear go for it!.

  • I was try to build the NVMe + storage myself before, but I find my NVMe is in Bucharest, storage in Oradea... Silly me.

  • Restock +30 guys ! thanks for the orders.

@cociu, I reserved one a few days ago, may I ask if there is anything I should be aware of? any usage that is not allowed? is (light/moderate usage) seedbox allowed on such vps?

  • maybe some kind of giveaway for doubled traffic limit?
