Hi, novice here, in need of help to install a Windows 2019 template on Vultr bare metal server
I first installed Ubuntu, then via Putty connected to the machine and logged in as root
Then installed the template to 100% with the command line:
wget -O- “http://danielcardoso.ovh/Dedicated/Server2019Std.gz | gunzip | dd of=/dev/sda
Finally, restarted the machine. But I can’t connect to it via RDP. Did I miss a step ?
Thanks any guidance

No , this has to be done via rescue mode not in The OS system !
Also you might need VNC to check why the windows won't boot !
That’s what I thought but cannot find how to boot in rescue mode at the Vultr portal and the support won’t help
This article on Vultr depicts installing a custom Linux ISO on Bare Metal. May be worth a shot. Rescue mode is normally the standard however I'm not sure if they offer that on Bare Metal. https://www.vultr.com/docs/custom-iso-on-bare-metal
Thanks for the guidance. Sadly, starting from scratch in the administration of machines, I don’t feel techy enough to proceed, despite some guides. If anyone is willing to help me for a fee, please drop a PM. Besides Vultr server, I also have 1 Hetzner server and another misc VPS to setup. Cheers
Hello,
If you still require support with this I'm willing to help for free
Thanks
Alfie
I am in the same boat as you are. Sent you a message.
I think your guide is for dual boot purpose.
