Cheap VPS in JP for VPN
Hi, I'd like to have a cheap VPS in JP to setup am openVPN for my personal use.
The month bandwidth is expected to be at most 50GB.
I hope to get one below 10 USD per year.
Alternatively, I can spend a bit more to run not only VPN, but also some of my applications.
In that case, the VPS should have an acceptable single CPU core performance (GB5 scores > 600, the more the better), although the average CPU consumption of my applications is low (only around 10%).
And I need 1 GB RAM, 5 GB disk. Currently I am using Linode which costs 5USD per month, and thus anything cheaper than that would be good.

If you are fine with NAT VPS.

What's up boss,
I have one stock available for https://my.nexusbytes.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=181&billingcycle=annually. Still cheaper than linode. .
Sadly won't be able to offer additional discount as inventory is dry. If you are interested please drop me a note and I will get you sorted in Japan . Join the family if you haven’t.
Maybe, but Linode's $5/month plan has slightly different resource limits.
OP, FDCServers has a low end Tokyo location, also different resources (256MB RAM), for $1.98/month. That is one of the cheapest KVMs I've seen without a special or sale.
The routing on those FDC locations is an absolute nightmare
NTT out of Tokyo is a nightmare?
Isn't FDCServers strictly Cogent?
For this price you will get NAT only. Prices offered by local providers are much higher. And lightsail offers it for $3.5/mo, which is the best price I’m aware of from a big foreign provider.
WebHorizon has no looking glass, but the Japan location on https://dnstools.ws is said to be WebHorizon. BGP data indicates it's on the NexusBytes AS number.
There's a Matryoshka doll here.
Last year I did lots of ping testing on http://lgjp.nexusbytes.com and it has low latency from all three ISPs in China.
However, the WebHorizon node seems to be blocked in China.
If you want NTT out of Tokyo, you may as well use Oracle Cloud.
Routing is good within Japan and to USA, but bad to China or Europe.
Do you need JP IPs to unlock games etc? I am using oracle free tier some time.
Ah, the 7USD/year is out of stock, and then I feel 12USD one is a bit expensive(comparing to 7USD), so I'm hesitating about that.
Yes, I need JP IPs for unlocking games. Oracle free tier sounds a good idea. Let me try it to see the latency. Thanks.
You'll probably need offers from local providers to unblock games. Unfortunately the price will be far higher than $10/yr
Oracle is us ips.
Hey @zxrlha
Check out our Japan NAT VPS plans, comes with a decent Ryzen based cpu.

Use coupon NATJAPAN for a discount
Please check the network & IP before order http://tyo.lg.webhorizon.in
Thanks. I pinged and the packet loss is 40-50%, which is too bad to me.
I see. Thanks. And I failed to signup Oracle.
Hmm, so you do have a looking glass. I didn't find the links on your ordering system.
But it's still a Matryoshka doll and it's blocked in China.
Thanks. I tested a bit and it looks good. However, it said that the Japan region is out of stock. Should I still order it and you will setup it?
I agree, it works surprisingly well.
except the china people got the public IP4 blocked. I advised using V2ray+SS in service activation email; bt some didn't follow & ended getting IPv4 blocked.
Hi there,
Yeap I have 1 stock (that I haven't made public yet).
Please order and drop me a pm, I will get it sorted for you fam
