  • FYI windows now has ssh built-in....

  • Xshell,Termius.

  • Using WSL with Ubuntu Distro in Windows.
    WSL + Hyper.is Terminal +ohmyzsh is amazing

  • PuTTY is great for me.

  • I currently use:

    • WSL2 (Windows Subsystem Linux)
    • Windows Terminal with WSL2 as default system (so easy to customize, so many features, really light and clean)

I really like the work they made on Windows Terminal and that i can use a Linux env locally.

In the past, i've been fan of:

    • MobaXTerm (kind of Linux system, based on cygwin)
    • Termius (not for that long cause of annoying bugs and not really ergonomic when you have to deal with multiple servers)
    • Hyper.is with WSL2 as default system (OMG this one was the best after Windows Terminal, cause like Windows Terminal you can customize it in a great way and it's light)

On Linux i mostly use local terminal or i install Terminator (or go direct thru command line if no gui).
On phone i use Prompt, because Panic FTW!
On tablet i use iSH, because embedded Alpine Linux > all :D

  • Used SecureCRT on Windows for about 20 years. Like the features and don't mind paying for it.

  • Terminal + Prompt all what you need
