    Yes, as anticipated.

You very much remind me of someone.

  • 肖琵谷,你太心急了,農曆新年西方國家大多不關注,做這個期間促銷的一般都跑去主機論壇發貼了。

you are too concerned about this. cultural difference, and hosting providers care more about bf-cm, etc. for those who focus/are more engaged in luna promo/campaigns, hosloc is most likely their priority.

RackNerd is pleased to announce our Red Envelope event, in celebration of Chinese New Year! Our development team has devoted a significant amount of time (and consumed a lot of coffee in the process of doing so) to develop this proprietary system, so we hope you enjoy!

No matter where you are from, anyone can participate in this creative & fun event and win some free credits towards a new VPS order! On any our Chinese New Year promotions here or on any of our New York Ryzen VPS specials — upon finishing the order and navigating to the invoice for the order, you will be greeted with a screen that looks like this:

    image

From there, you'll want to choose the envelope of your choice, and then you will see how much you’ve received! The amount you’re given is completely random by the computer, and will be applied as a credit against your order's invoice.

Cool red packet setup @dustinc! Just signed up for a VPS in San Jose and got a nice little discount

Just a heads up though, my IP address is on the subnet 107.172.0.0/32 and it seems to flagged by Google - whenever I make a Google search I get a captcha and a message about 'suspicious behavior from this network'. I also have a Virmach VPS on 107.127.0.0/32 with the same issue. Means the San Jose location isn't great as a proxy/VPN :(

Hi @weasel -- thank you for signing up! Happy to hear you enjoyed our red envelope event - we appreciate your business.

As for the similar filtering, it is because we utilize the same upstream, which does currently have issues with Google - likely an end user on the network that caused temporary filtering which requires captcha for the time being. Usually, you can avoid this by using a different browser, such as duckduckgo.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and hope for the filtering to be removed.

That would be a search engine, not a browser.

There’s an actual browser too, so Rasputin technically isn’t wrong.

But using any browser with Google search engine (the complaint) would result in the same. So no, he's wrong.

    Jokes aside, you're right.

That’s a different thing to there not being a browser called DDG.

We both know the response was a bit mince, but you gotta come correct.

Hey Dustin, appreciate the explanation. I've had this issue on my Virmach IP for over 8 months, so it seems pretty 'permanent'.

It's the ColoCrossing backbone. They were made (exposed) by Google a long long time ago. Consider changing your search engine to DuckDuckGo, (as mentioned above).

    Yeah, it's permanent.

  • Got the 1yr/2GB special Amsterdam @ $19.99. Chose far right Ang Pao before paying and got $2.94 off.

    That's $17.05 for a 2GB /40GB SSD/6TB . Like a buck forty per month.
Fairly decent latency from E Asia too.

Hope it's recurring. Anybody else try it out?

Thanks Dustinc. Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Running Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS right now.
The 2GB of swap automatically set up & ready to go.

I know I know. After all the BS over the last 3+ years.

    Thing is: Well, never mind.
This fun little gamble seems to have been worth it.
Package works exactly as advertised. No all-caps required.
