The problem relies in people coming here and complaining about your services. Even though price is a magnet for new customers and it boosts your sales with popularity of your company; the quality of service generated by such offers is known for resulting in negative reviews and complaints on LET. For you, this may be considered great, because "good publicity, bad publicity, still publicity". But even though such offers create an initial beautiful hype, later it is all bound to become a popcorn drama, with repetitive threads about same issues and arguments every so often. History constantly repeats itself, and all that repetitive drama may annoy others.
i cannot be totaly agree , the truth is in the middle , is true and i have reconose the period of last year when was a nightmare , but as you see the peole was note a change in our quality service , some of them was use same package durring the last 2 years and i can assure you +95% of people is happy with this dirty cheap vps because is there and is functional . Now the past is the past , my interest is to grow and grow in quality also wich i consider i did and we still working in something good. But after all this to follow all my threads and give always shit i think is something personally (all this to not have any service with us , at least i dont know him to have any service)
This should really be in your signature.
It does not matter if people use your services, or do not use your services. This is a public board, and everybody has the right to an opinion around here, including the right to express that opinion in a respectful manner.
If any of your customers come and complain here, or if they decide to wash any laundry (dirty or not) in public, you must also accept other people taking a look at your laundry (dirty or not), and give in their opinion (whether is positive or negative; requested or not requested).
My guess is that @PHDan is/was almost certainly a second account. Joined August 2018, didn't make his first post until March 2019, and is/was way too familiar with the past five or so years of LET to have been simply a quiet observer.
Possible previous lurker. I can not talk for others, but my guess is that many people make accounts only when actually needed. I take myself as example:
That’s life my friend.
Think of it this way..
Even if you were perfect (though nobody is), there will be those that will like you and there will also be those that will dislike you - not necessarily you as a person but it could be your business/services.
Easier said than done but you’ll have to absorb everything professionally, as positively as possible and improve whatever that needs to be improved.
It’s hard to please everyone, without a doubt, but I’m pretty sure you have your fair share or loyal customers and friends in this scene/industry that are more than willing to provide their honest feedback on how things can be better, for you and your business/services.
Just my 2 cents.
It's possible. At the same time, it's also inconvenient not to have an account if one wants to follow and/or save threads.
Furthermore, in @PHDan's case, he sometimes says/said things about the past that are so specific that they suggest to me something much more than "just a long-time passive lurker without an account".
In any case, he clearly has a gripe with @cociu that appears to be almost personal. Where does this come from?
Actually this is better. By using crap old slow CPU, you make sure nobody will use this server as remotely important project / production. Only for simple and plain storage server.
Nah, he bash everyone, he doesn't like.
@cociu - Is it possible for customers to install the operating system from a choice of multiple ISOs provided by you (or better yet: custom ISO), and partition the system as needed when installing OS manually?
+1
Custom ISO would be great, as I would love to setup a ProxmoxBackupServer without installing debian first
Afaik there are currently only 3 templates (debian, ubuntu and centos if I'm not mistaken)
Maybe a customer who already has a server can specify if ISO are available, or just standard preinstalled templates.
@default I am a customer of HS and if I want to reinstall, I can only select standard templates of centos 7/8, debian 10 or ubuntu 18/19.10. Custom iso is not available, but novnc is and maybe it's possible to install something this way (I don't know).
Interestingly, it is not possible to access the (virtualizor?) panel outside of the client area and I haven't seen an option to rescue boot.
If you need anything else in this regard, I can do that too
Does it have option to boot from CDROM ISO in SolusVM? If yes, what CDROM ISO are available in SolusVM?
I believe they are using proxmox ve
@chocolateshirt yes, you are correct, they are using proxmox
But it's possible to change the boot order to 2 out of Disk, CDROM, Network in any order.
As far as I can tell, CDROM can not be manually changed, but maybe network could be altered upon boot (proxmox allows to ctrl-b during boot, as it seems). But I don't know or could test it currently, maybe later that day.
It looks like it could be possible to mount a CDROM, but maybe only via ticket. @cociu or @MikePT can you enlighten us maybe?
this is one of our programated task , will be in the near future after finish the expansion with this 2 locations. The module is know this so way not . NO ETA , is possile to be only after blackfriday but definetly is in a priority task.
we use proxmox , and i can assure you some users was install others systems than we offer , but dont ask me how because i am not the tech here. I will ask my guys and share it soon.
These steps should work:
As I know, Romania offer unlimited bandwidth, then doing this thing are like a shot in the dark, wouldn't it be better without limitation ?
That was refreshing. Any grown ass adult that uses the phrase "toxic behavior" and isn't talking about Brittany Spears or Swamp Thing is way past neutered.
But this is my cue to flag down the waiter and grab my Andes after dinner mint. LET is catering to the cesspool of the provider world and there's no use for me here.
I did get a chuckle from the various Low End Detectives that were trying to analyze me.
@PHDan i figured you will still act like a child! Funny thing is you are an adult, why does my 8 yr old behave better than you? Hey the fact you can’t even own up for being an asshat and try to push the blame off on me or LET shows your real character! But hey you know where the door is don’t let it hit you on the way out!
So what happened to the two weeks vacation?
It's hard to go on vacation for petty reasons, especially in times of pandemic.
Does not know how weeks work? Second time two weeks didn't mean two weeks, that I know of.
Spent the last hour reading this thread.. What a roller coaster!
I like my 1tb offer from last year, use it for encrypted storage via rclone or sshfs.
Having AES pass-through enabled helps a bunch.
and a full yabs report cuz you people dont create a swap partition before you test and geekbench fails
`root@thorbox:~# curl -sL yabs.sh |bash -s -- -r

Anyway, there's always Drama Happen in cociu's thread.
Norway location is an interesting option, may get one...
