It seems you are using Cloudflare to host the DNS for mailbaby.net. Why you are doing that?

    Why not?

Doesn't seem like it. I could only find SMTP credentials

All of my mails seems to fall to MailChannels. I guess this is a good thing since MC is more expensive...?

Some will deliver by mc for sure. The most important thing is getting it delivered.

Agreed. CF really has things figured out when it comes to dos protection, caching, load balancing, dns management, etc...

As much as I like Cloudflare, their service isn't about email delivery.

Using them adds a dependency with all the concerns of a dependency.

It would have been nice if they clarified why they are using CF.

Everybody has to use DNS somewhere. I’d say they owe an explanation if they choose Pornhub’s DNS.

I actually didn't mean to say they owe an explanation.

Yes, everybody has to use DNS somewhere.

  • Sorry for the slight necro, for people that ended up using this, how has the experience been? Any problems?

  • I found their filter to be way too aggressive. Like 30% of mails would be denied, it would be denied if you sent the same email to more than one person.

Is that the MailChannels filter or the internal filter?

Internal filter. They pass some emails to their in-house relay and others to mailchannels.

  • Give them an award for this epic domain name.

If you send me more info I would be happy to check it out to improve the filtering.

This is the stats on the panel (I think it only showed emails that go through to your relay rather than mailchannels). Nonetheless, there was no feedback upon emails being denied, and all those emails were just random content to test deliverability (IE: "test" for subject and "test" for body).

If I recall correctly, if two identical emails were sent, one would be denied. This may be fixed now; however, I had to change back to our old relay as having emails randomly rejected is unacceptable in production.

  • If you have two ids in the bounce, that were the same messages and can send them to me that would be the most helpful since I could see the actual run of the scan. I can make a fairly educated guess though on what the issue may have been based on what you have given. Sending the same message twice won't cause the second to be blocked - but it is possible that during a check one went through, and one did not due to a pyzor check. test in the subject and test in the content does actually show up on pyzor and while simply matching at pyzor won't actually cause a block in the message, it is one thing that will add to the score of a message. I have recently adjusted at what point a message is denied to be less restrictive.

there was no feedback upon emails being denied

I will get this added to the bounce url page so a false positive can be easily opened.

I know you may not be using this any more, this and any other feedback is great and will help improve the service.

I hope its not bad to bump old topic, but I think you should have more detailed documentation, use case scenerio / example to easily figure out when one can use your service.

Asking them to make documentation more comprehensive and upto date. eg. check their DA example screenshot.

  • Happy customer here, since last fall. Everything goes through, no billing surprises, support email was answered accurately, courteously and timely. Note: my SMTP host has SPF, DKIM, PTR, DMARC set for all sending domains and subdomains, and my lists are fresh and clean. I actually want my transimssions babied so nothing undeliverable gets out. I'm still pretty low volume (<40K messages so far) and not sending newsletters yet, so you may see different results.

I can confirm this. Mailbaby is doing his job and delivering emails in inbox. Since we switched form mailchannels to Mailbaby we saved $100/m

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. We are working hard to expand on the service as well. We just finished implementing the mailing API so developers can do transactional emails. We are also working on a WordPress plugin.
