  • Yes that looks normal due to the distance.. I transferred a file from OVH France to Canada on 1G ports and got ~20-25 MB/s.

Same here, hardly above 25MB/s with OVH across the deep blue sea

So there's no difference between OVH 500Mbps and OVH 250Mbps ?

There could be temporary fiber cut issue at Canada.
    https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/165655/ovh-latency-dropouts-canada#latest

Not sure that is still the cause or something else.

  • What's with the OVH Public Cloud Sandbox ? for $3.5 / month for 2GB of RAM, it seems too good to be true. Is there something that I miss ?

    only 100mbit
failover ips, snapshots, hdd volumes.....very stable

  • offers are good while with zero support it will be a nightmare. For more than 12 days I am trying to help my friend setting up the server from template and it takes so long. We tried to use qemu method to earn time while we run into another problem and server suddenly shuts down itself. My friend gave up and asked to re-install server using Debian while it never completed and server stuck on step 3 and no progress for days. Opened 2 tickets and more than 24 hours passed with no response.

OVH Support is a Joke! you only get help if you phone them , and thats if they can be bothered to answer the phone,

Too expensive vs Hetzner where I can get double the performance for less.

Hetzner so much cheaper , get much better hardware for the cost too , just shame there network is not upgradable

Why on earth wasn't there a deal on the Advance/Infra line of servers..

Anyone decided to snatch a Rise-LE-1/2/3 and wanna share a benchmark?
