Can I add SSD or nvme drive? and install proxmox on it? will I lose data on raid disks?

Thanks

Comments

  • Yes, you can ask support to add an SSD 256GB for extra 4 euro
You can add only SSD not nVME

Why don't you ask hetzner directly?

Anyway the answer of your question is yes.

Hetzner will add Disks if you contact them directly.
And the second answer is also yes. As it's recommended to install proxmox or any virtualization software on a clean setup so you will definitely loose data when you reinstall the server.

I would recommend you to backup your existing data if it's important for you.

Then reinstall the server with Proxmox

not quite. obviously if you know, what you are doing you can simply install the 'fresh' system only to that new ssd and mount the old disks into the system afterwards. however, I guess if one have to ask, that doesn't qualify ;-)

    definitely!

@SpeedTest - If you ever have questions about possible add-on hardware (what hardware you can add to specific models, how much it costs, etc.), you can always write to our team via your account on Robot. But remember that, as the admin, you're responsible for installing/maintaining software, configuring your RAID array, making backups, etc. --Katie
