Hey - I am trying to compile a list of single server CPs out there. We all know the biggies, cPanel/Plesk webpros, DirectAdmin etc. But what else is out there?

  • cPanel
  • Plesk
  • DirectAdmin
  • ISPmanager
  • ApisCP
  • Cyberpanel
  • Yunohost
  • Virtualmin
  • Vestacp
  • Centoswebpanel
  • Webuzo
  • ISPConfig
  • aapanel
  • Keyhelp
  • fastpanel
  • froxlor
  • Hestia
  • Ajenti
  • Sentora
  • TinyCP
  • Kloxo
  • easyengine
  • ...who did I forget?

Better use poll for this, so we can also know which one is more popular

it would probably be 95-99% Webpros & DirectAdmin ... no?

  • NanoG6NanoG6 Member

Of course.. but then we can also get a bigger picture

perhaps we should make a poll excluding cpanel/plesk/directadmin... could be fun to see who is biggest among the tier2/3 CP's

Eh never mind, may be the idea using poll is not that good. You're right, the poll winner will be obvious

I agree, but it was interesting to find out information about which of these panels is more secure. But most likely it will be too time-consuming to study.

I think a better use for this information (or to add to this information) would be to define what packages these control panel use.

What MTA do they use? Exim? Postfix? Qmail?

What web server do they use? Apache? nginx? OpenLitespeed?

What POP/IMAP server do they use? Dovecot? Courier?

What SQL server do they use? MariaDB? MySQL?

What else is everyone looking for? And how do these control panels stack up with that?

For me... I know Postfix is an extremely popular MTA but I just never did get the hang of it's configuration system and much prefer Exim. But what control panel utilize Exim for their integrated MTA?

agree - could be interesting to build a matrix with CP's and technologies, prices etc.

If it has ssl easily configurable? Preferably differentiate those with letsencrypt vs provided ssl certainly.

    Multi client? reseller ability?

One click app installs (examples Wordpress, etc)?

    What OS they run on?

    Support nodejs? Npm? Composer? Etc.

  • Is there any web hosting software that runs individual sites from docker? Would be pretty cool that an entire site is jailed within its own docker container. What are thoughts on this? Would this work out well? Or is it just overhauled usage of resources?

    Do you count SaaS provider?

    • runcloud
    • moss.sh
    • serverpilot
    • ...

It would be good to add (P) - paid or (F) - free notations.

Thanks! Looks cool. I’ve used EE but not version 4. It must work stable enough to be incorporated.

    Any experience using it EEv4?

I'm currently using it. After trying several other control panel (Vesta, Hestia, DA, CWP-Pro, Webinoly, Wordops), and load testing them using loader.io, I always came back to easyengine for its simplicity and performance (especially if you're using WordPress).

The first thing that came to my mind was ApisCP from @nem but I see it's already there.

The only other thing I see missing is Interworx ( https://www.interworx.com/ ) which is owned by LiquidWeb.com -- a super reputable company that has been around longer than we've been. It definitely deserves to be added to the list. :)

  • Since when easyengine has a GUI ? Or i am missing something 🤔

This Panel look nice, but everything is in Russian, no English support forum, I hope they add it.

This prompted me to look at Fastpanel: it is! :)
    (Russian-derived = marginally better than China-derived aapanel?)
