All,

We have completed the upgrade to the latest version of Vanilla.

Hopefully not in the hosting industry, and therefore by extension, not here on LET either.

It was worth the try haha.

On a side note, LET became much more enjoyable on the mobile version.

What do you see as different on the mobile side?

Overall, feels smoother and lighter. Editor functions nice. Nothing scales weird.

Seems a lot smoother on mobile for me too. LET and threads in general seem to load quicker as well

    Gravatar is still enabled.

If you don't have one it is possible that the default Vanilla avatars changed. I am not sure.

  • Yes the default ones changed. That was the first I noticed. I didnt notice anything new with the desktop site.

The comment box also seems to be more polished now...or is it just me :smirk:

  • Test the code

  • On iPhone safari, when I moved to previous page, the scroll was moved at top. But now, it stays the right position.

  • dark mode please?

That would require another theme and CSS changes which I am not skilled with.

If someone wanted to help contribute the CSS work we could look at making it possible.

I use this at night, it probably looks awful though: https://defuse.ca/b/8rH7F52E

Maybe this is something @FAT32 can help with regarding getting a proper dark theme option for mobile users?

The site performance is lot faster than before. Any change of a new design coming along?

We have been working to improve the server side optimizations the past few weeks. It's possible the vanilla upgrade also helped.

    Glad you are seeing improvements.

  • I like this update. The site became so smooth + the comment box is better than it was. Thanks!
