Good VPS provider for sending email

I'm looking to setup possibly multiple VPS for sending email. I'm not planning on sending spam, it is for a service that will send legitimate emails.

What I mean by "good" is that their IP addresses have good reputation and don't just get blocked by receiving mail servers. I've used various providers in the past on web servers, and I've seen emails ending up in spam for reasons related to IP reputation, or assuming they were dynamic, etc..

Thanks.

why not use some cheap transactional mail service like SES? unless you're sending tens/hundreds of thousands of emails it will be much cheaper than a common VPS.

    welcome to LET btw.

  • It'll take some extra efforts to setup mail servers but it will give you some advantages once you set it up right. Yeah, I did test Amazon and yet, still not perfect. Even yahoo blocked them and if you traced their IPs, it is blocked mostly from sorbs and other providers. You can see that in mxtoolbox.

I reported to Amazon many months ago about it and waited for 2 months without a fix. So, I gave up. It is still good for alternative smtp though.

Better to use already existing provider than to do this thing
SES,Sendgrid, sendinblue, mailgun and many cost effective providers are available for like 1$ for 10k mails..

If you want for personal mail , use mxroute .. I personally use it and it’s very good..

    Congrats on your first post

  • +1 for amazon ses.

  • Thanks for the answers everyone. I've heard that AWS IP addresses all have pretty poor reputation, so I assume SES was the same. I also assumed services like send grid would be the same too. If you guys think otherwise, then I'll look into those options further.

I would still be interested to know if any VPS are known for having good IP/email reputation in case anyone knows of any.

There aren't many VPS providers who would be happy with mass mailings, even if legitimate, but I suspect that you know this already

As others have said, your best option would be to go with a dedicated mail service provider

  • I'm looking for it, too. I want to have a cheap service.
    For sending and receiving mail
    Currently I use G Suite
But I have multiple domain names and need to create multiple accounts. It's too expensive
Besides, does anyone know any open source postal?

It's 2020. The era of personally sending mass emails is over. Use a specialized email provider to do it.

It's to keep your sanity in check more than anything else. You probably don't wanna go bald too early.

There are plenty of cheap options. If you don't feel it's cheap, then you probably haven't tried managing a professional mail(spamming) server.

As other posters have suggested you'd be best off getting in touch with a specialist mail delivery platform (such as those mentioned above). Whilst it is certainly possible to configure a server and the IP addresses to make the likelihood of mail delivery higher, it isn't always easy to keep up with the requirements of many mail providers.
Many VPS providers refrain from allowing mass mailing (even legitimate) due to the potential risk of spammers abusing their service. It's really not fun when that happens, trust me.
Considering there are many services that offer free tiers for many thousands of mails, I would just save yourself the hassle (and that of your host) and use their service instead.

    Congrats on your first post

  • I'm not planning on mass mailing at all. This is more for sending emails from my web servers. Things like welcome emails, email confirmations, invoices, contact us, and things like that.

That being said, I guess this won't change the overall recommendation of using a dedicated email sending provider.

    Thanks for the help.

  • i would suggest you to go with email provider. because setting a vps is kinda headache..
ses / sendgrid is my personal recommendation i've been using both of them for my website project.
