I have a ovh game vps i am getting ddos with method ovh bypass which still is not fixed payers get timeout and after few seconds they have to connect back.

i saw a game server hosted by voxility it does not have this kind of issues and latency is also better for me atleast .

The specs i want is :-

Ghz 4.2
ram: 8 Gb
SSD: 40
Network 100 mbit or + w/e

Location required: Germany
DDOS Protection - YES with layer 7

Thanks.

Layer 7 for HL1? Specifically what what exploit?

Layer 7 protection is typically used as short hand for HTTP/HTTPS. Voxility does provide this although it's EXTREMELY basic (static meta refresh with cookie).

  • we use fastdl so it needs port 80 okay :) ?

  • You can put the content for fastdl on a different (web)server. I would not expose the gameserver directory via fastdl okay?

@amsaal FYI Voxility's Layer 7 protection is 100% incompatible with FastDL since it uses a Meta Refresh page.

If you want you can speak to us. We can mitigate most HTTP layer 7 attacks in "API Mode". Or you can get creative with whitelists and set appropriate limits using attributes of the requesting client (e.g useragent).

    See https://www.x4b.net/kb/EnhancedHTTPMitigation and https://www.x4b.net/kb/Layer7Rules

We are however not on the Voxility network, nor are we located in Germany (closest PoP Amsterdam)

    https://docs.linuxgsm.com/commands/fastdl

Perhaps Corero is better fitting than Voxility in this scenario ;)
