From Prometeus offer received by email.

S3 Storage [Not in AWS], refer below mail content. I see a reasonably good price. Want open source refer minio https://github.com/minio/minio . I don't represent Prometeus here, I don't use their services after moved to netcup and Hetzner due to cost.

Flash sale! 400GB €29/yr, 1000GB €59/yr, 2000GB €99/yr.

No hidden costs, in/out traffic is included.

S3 API is the defacto standard in the object storage world. In the last years more and more applications adopted S3 protocol as storage backends.

Some applications supporting S3 storage:

Cpanel can use S3 as backup destination
WHMCS can use S3 to store files and attachments
Restic allow you to backup files and devices, deduplicated and encrypted
Rclone
mc (minio client)

We have several recipes available here:

Profit of our limited time promotion to get your S3 space with unmetered traffic for a few cents per day.

400GB €29/yr, 1000GB €59/yr, 2000GB €99/yr.

Not much fantasy with that S3 name. Hope they will not get slapped at their penis tip by Amazon.

  • Does rclone mount work with your service?

Why? Where do you see them use "Amazon" anywhere?

The S3 name is not trademarked.

  • What is s3 anyway?

well that is interesting. They are using minio on the backend?
No encryption mentioned so i would assume unencrypted - and quite sparse info regardless.

They talk about HA and DR, but i doubt their offer is nothing but a traditional VM in the backend, or am i incorrect?

  • Ordered one. Initially, there were strange certificate problems (fixed quickly, after I contacted tech.support).

Overall, good impression (tested with s3cmd and MinIO console agent).
