Hetzner: Ryzen 1700x or E3-1275V6

Hello i need help to choose beetween these servers.

4x RAM 16384 MB DDR4 ECC
2x SSD M.2 NVMe 512 GB
Intel Xeon E3-1275V6
NIC 1 Gbit - Intel I219-LM

4x RAM 16384 MB DDR4
2x SSD SATA 512 GB (anyone know disk model?)
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X

need it to host +50 wordpress sites, I don't run email servers.

Most of people told me xeon ... but i have 60%-70% cpu usage on my current xeon e3-1230, also i cache wp db on memory, so i don't know if that nvme is really necessary.

  • 1275v6 for ECC

if in doubt refer to me signature

  • Prices of both? AX41-NVMe might be best of both worlds with the ECC add-on.

    server auction

    E3 = 42.86 EUR
    Ryzen: 45.38 EUR

  • between those two, i'll go for ryzen 1700x (8 core / 16 thread).

but AX41 is cheaper (39€) + one time setup fee

These are apples and oranges. Ryzen is not for server use, and Xeon is a server dedicated CPU. Always go for a proper kit.

    Uhm. Sorry but what?

  • The AX41 will be 44 euro monthly + 39 euro setup fee. Overall better than both the options, just a tiny bit more expensive. Almost 20k PassMark, NVMe + ECC. If you're hosting 50+ sites, I don't think a less than 5 euro difference makes sense to be worried about.

  • Probably R7-1700X, but I would go for AX-41 NVMe tho the setup time will take up to 10 days

  • Ryzen for sure.
