They have Perth and Birsbane location from what I saw on their site. But looks like this deal is for Perth. Also posted on LES some more information.

    Edited, corrected

I take it you are only kidding. They have Perth and Birsbane location from what I saw. Also posted on LES some more information that I found.

Not kidding unfortunately, I clicked around their (somewhat confusing) site and couldn't find an order link for Brisbane.

Likewise. Ordered, pending. I ping'd their website- assuming that they eat their own dogfood...

From Bengaluru, rather flaky mobile 4G network:

    64 bytes from 203.33.252.50: icmp_seq=0 ttl=44 time=164.791 ms
    64 bytes from 203.33.252.50: icmp_seq=1 ttl=44 time=126.850 ms
    64 bytes from 203.33.252.50: icmp_seq=2 ttl=44 time=123.631 ms

Should get sub - 100 ms latency once home network is up and running.

I've used them before, HORRIBLE service. Their VPS service isn't meant for people like us, it's meant for people who want their host to do everything for them so they use things like VMWare and what not I believe (I used them in May last year, flaky memory). It was incredibly slow, VPS OS installation system didn't work so they had to manually do it for me meaning I couldn't do OS re installations ever.

    Error received:

Error in template (Line 59, Column 26): Collection expression should evaluate into the value implementing IEnumerable interface.

EDIT: Having now looked back at my email(s) with them, the network speed maxed out at 2 MB/s as if it was hosted in someones house using ADSL2+ (they probably have NBN now so may be faster). I also cancelled the server on first day and now looking, they issued me invoices for half a year as they left it online the entire time and tried to chase for payment.

All in all, avoid, spend a few more dollars per month and go with BinaryLane for Perth - or FlowVPS if you want Melbourne.

Were you able to get the login/ access? I am yet to figure my way around Hyper-V. Late in the night though. Server created, would give it a try in the morning.

  • Unable to login at first, but then they reset and recreate control panel password. Logged in, build a VM, more errors. Tried again, succeed, but only got private IP.
Raised a ticket again, and just like what @tester4 said, they need to manually create the VM for us..

My eye balls hurt, that is one super confusing site.

  • Do they have a test IP? Really curious as to which data center they're using.

I like how their about page says "With a combined 100 years of experience in, corporate IT, project management. We are more than equipped to look after your corporate IT needs". Combined years of experience, lol. That could just be 200 interns and work experience students each with half a years worth of experience 🤔

What does this even mean? (from https://datawest.com.au/about-us/)

Does this mean they're running at 90% capacity on their VPS nodes? 25% of domains are not registered? They have 5% unsold inventory of dedicated servers? I'm so confused.

At least their address actually seems like a business address, but who knows if they actually have employees there, or just a mailbox.

    Sometimes lower?

  • I've used them before and decided against posting it as a deal here. Their network is slow and disk IO was lacking. It's a real shame because in terms of budget Perth VPSs, there's not much available apart from BinaryLane (who are superb mind you).

Also, everything is manual in terms of VPS creation.

Support was friendly though, and understanding of the slow network. They mentioned something about providing an option for a gigabit downlink, but I think most of the nodes are on 100mbit hence the abysmal speeds.

MrVM has a Perth location, hosted out of RansomIT. It's OpenVZ6 though, unfortunately. http://lg-au-per.mrvm.net/

When you bought that website template for 100$ and you realize you have no cool data to visualize in all the fancy widget snippets and you think "i could come up with some numbers for sure"
