  • Haha buy nothing day, nice :-) BF was my buy nothing day, and I'm proud I was able to refuse temptation. Besides, nothing on BF came remotely close to this deal for what I'm looking for.

    Will post a bench.sh soon..

This box is not an idler, it's my Plex server. Fucking flawless. I can't express how happy I am with this VPS. I took the option to pay an extra $5/mo to increase the CPU to 8 cores which is why the benchmark shows 8 instead of 4.

  • Yea this is the same offer as a previous one that has very decent value: https://lowendboxes.review/smarthost-kvm-nvme-ssd-budget-vps-flash-sale/

@dahartigan I just realised the speeds to APAC is decent. That is a very strong selling point for Asian based customers.

Network is fast to Australia my man :-) I found LA to be the sweet spot. Vegas is also another decent alternative for APAC, but LA is prem.

I'm breaking @SmartHost 's balls over bringing this to Australia, because that would be the icing on the cake for me.

He should totally sell the network speeds to APAC because there are lots of Asian folks who want such prices but the problem is that most of the time, it is difficult to find a provider with decent network to Asia from USA or Europe.

@seriesn's Germany location is pretty good to Asia but from my testing it is not that good to Australia

Germany is actually one of the worst locations for an Australian, especially from the big H. FYI west coast USA, even Canada, plus sometimes SGP can be the best for AU but even that can vary.

Very true, unfortunately, that means cables between continents for the interwebs to work. Long cables. 170ms to LA, 80ms to SGP, 300+ to EU, 200ish to Canada..

I'm not sad, at least we know the deal we have is as cheap as it could possibly get. Plus we didn't have to deal with the usual BF rush, etc. BF came early for us..

It's all about perspective man lol

I have a couple of these VPSs, the base model @ $6.95 and they seem great value given the resources. I liked them so much I bought the storage VPS too.

  • @SmartHost in your offer you state SAS RAID6, but NVME says nothing about that.

Does it mean there is no RAID for NVME?

I think the base is very generous and the addons are great value too, especially that extra 4 cores for $5, I can Plex comfortably :-)

  • @SmartHost
    Do you have backup feature?

  • Just found a new (to me) benchmarking script, and I wanted to test it out on my favourite VPS lol
