PHP-FRIENDS; 4 EUR/Month VPS Offer - Schnupperspecial

edited October 2019 in General

Hey Everyone,

I just saw this offer and thought I should share -

https://php-friends.de/vserver-ssd/vserver-schnupperspecial-2019-ssd-g2

I've been with them for quite some time and everything is pretty solid for me so far. I would happily recommend over many other LET providers.

Go grab it if you're in need of a solid VPS :)

Minimum contract period: 6 months

Thanks.

i have legitimate files to serve that exceed it. but the problem is i see it advertised constantly "flat rate traffic" and "unmetered" in german hosts ALL the time and it's annoying.

  • A nicer balance between RAM and disk space than their offer back in March

That's ~39Eur/yr (without VAT) for us yearly cost planners.
The minimum period is 6 mos: So approx 19.5/6mo (pre-VAT)

    A worthy pre-BF offer indeed

The minimum period is 6 mos: So approx 19.5/6mo (pre-VAT)

    A worthy pre-BF offer indeed

So the above price EUR4/month includes VAT?

Think of it as a way of giving "peace of mind" to the average non-tech guy who also would only use 2GB on an unlimited disk space plan. Here in Germany, internet is "Neuland", meaning lots of ppl have yet to learn what it is all about. To take away that fear of being overcharged there are these flatrates.

Yes. If you're not an EU resident, the price is below 4€/m, as @vimalware indicated

Yeah, I think so because it says "4,00 € pro Monat (inkl. MwSt.)" and if you click on MwSt. it brings you to a page with the VAT of each country.

I got a 24 Euro invoice for 6 months even though I have an India address. Did not see an option for 12 months payment. So that leaves options - raise a ticket, have them revise the invoice. Or ask them for a 12 month invoice :-) Sunday specials.

I need to brush up on my German

But why would you want to pay for 12 months if 6 is the minimum?

I think that they'll reissue the invoice without VAT within a few hours if you're outside of the EU.

Exchange rate, financial year, convenience, I can give any number of (lame) reasons. For me, it's personal preference though. If the provider is good, service is great, then I prefer year long.

    Good point about exchange rate

Perhaps they can make the invoice for 12 months, but there won't be a further discount in this case. Anyway, worth a ticket

  • Can anyone make bench?
I interested geekbench, bench.sh and ioping?

  • This offer is recurring right!?

  • @vyas11 I don't think they'll remove the VAT on your first invoice as they haven't done that for any of my orders. But you can try asking them, maybe just call them for faster response.

I used Google translate to send them an email. Considering it's a Sunday and Deepawali festival here :-)

Update: I just got a mail from then (in English!) that echoed the link shared by @pike below:

"....In general we remove the VAT from invoices a few hours after the order by ourselves ..... as 99% of our orders come from Europe. That's why we have to set your account to VAT-free and resend the invoice after the order is in our system..... "
