Only @Nick_A knows. No, it's big.

Ramnode are definitely big in spirit.

(note: I was going to refrain from using the word spirit. This is because my last attempt at using a synonym for spirit in a different thread ended quite poorly. It also resulted in my stability coming under a cloud. But decided to post anyways because my above statement is factually accurate).

I wouldn't say we're tiny but also not huge? Big enough to provide consistently good service, small enough to care.

  • @Nick_A just one question, is fleio stable enough now? No issues at all?

alexvolk said: @Nick_A just one question, is fleio stable enough now? No issues at all?

Pretty sure that's two questions

Fleio is stable. There are a few background issues they're working on for us, but nothing that would be considered a stability problem. OpenStack is really the underlying system anyway.

Don't undersell yourself, it's exceptional service; regardless of company size!

In the months I've been with RamNode, there was only one downtime and I was notified for it. Lasted very shortly, as I believe it was just a reboot to fix some hypervisor issues.

Also I purchased Cloud Credit and opened a ticket to redeem this latest offer, I got my extra credits within 15 minutes, even at my odd insomnia hours lol

  • Do you have backup, block storage, float IP now?
It's openstack but seems missing these features like lunanode have.
The control panel is hided too deeply in WHMCS, maybe you could separate it from current interface.
Also please add more documents about how to use the [network].

    What does this mean?

If you have cloud enabled you just click "access" and the separate panel is there.

I think it's pretty easy to get to in WHMCS, but you can also access it directly via the link under Resources in the nav bar. More info here.

Always happy to update documentation. What questions do you have? Our current knowledgebase article regarding private networking is here.

When I first started using RamNode getting from client
area->cloud panel was a bit confusing. Mainly because traditionally, you would find instances listed under the 'services' option.

But the cloud panel is accessible within RamNode Cloud Account (which is the active product/service) if you're trying to access via client area.

I didn't know there is a direct link:
    https://cloud.ramnode.com/

When you have a lot of services, you have to go to page 2/n to find the "RamNode Cloud Account" service.

I was spoiled by the easy-to-use interface. The process I am familiar with is creating a router, creating a public IP, creating a virtual machine, and then assigning an intranet IP to the virtual machine.

Gotcha. We're trying to make it as simple as possible while offering end user flexibility. We debated simply assigning a private IP versus giving users the ability to define their own private subnet. The last piece we're working on is to allow add/remove for private IPs after instance creation (currently requires support involvement).

  • @Nick_A are your OpenVZ VPS using OpenVZ6 or OpenVZ7 now?

Asked to reprovision as KVM, or any other chance to get it to run the latest Debian, was able to upgrade it, but staff denied the conversion or whatever, forwarded me to the standard KVM's.

Were you trying to go VZ > KVM? PM me your ticket number if you'd like.
