What error are you receiving? In this case you can probably create a ticket if one is not already generated. We usually generate one for you explaining the issue.

  • i only know virmach in BF

  • @Virmach what does 'up to 50gbit of ddos' protection mean for Buffalo? do some of your nodes have different levels of protection?

  • So, finally tempting enough to get one! :) But I have to admit that I fell for it quite easily, as my other box with them now has a update of over a year, with no issue so far. And it's OpenVZ6 so it had to go anyway...

It's actually been 50Gbps for quite some time but we only recently started advertising it as such. "Up to" means that for the maximum level, we may possibly stand against an attack for a shorter duration if necessary. We decided to first start it out like this and see how it goes; it's just a precaution because although extremely rare (it's never happened so far), if a sustained attack occurred at that level for a long time we may run into problems.

There are also some other limitations as well in very specific attack scenarios.

Will previous plans such as BF special on Buffalo receive free 50Gbps DDOS protection too?

No specific limit, but we have a low tolerance on abuse. I would first recommend you ensure what you're running doesn't break our AUP.

    It will be ColoCrossing.

Yes, they've had it for a year or two now.

@angstrom I surely can relate to that instinct (I have been budgeting half a dozen renewals due in a couple months - yet now am sorely tempted to upgrade something in Seattle ...)

still somehow I suspect there will be plenty to go around (and many more deals to be had on Black Friday as well.)
