The bad English was a long con, now we'll see perfectly readable posts by the fake accounts.
Just checked on this thread (haven't gotten any notifications of new posts) and see a few "fake account" comments. Well I'm real. I live in Guyton, Georgia. And would be glad to answer any questions to dispel any doubt. I was surprised Bill was available too. But it's my name...
Welcome @Bill! LET is full of trolls so don't feed them. I'm Alexander B.P. Johnson and I live in London, UK. Glad to know that you're a happy HS customer for so many years. Would you mind telling us how you met this wonderful provider?
Hi Alexander! A little over two years ago I found myself looking for a VPS. A little searching on Google and I found an offer from him here on LET. Not much more to it than that.
I'm glad that after all these years you've decided to create an account and contribute to our community! But, being from the US, why did you decide going with a romanian provider? Price? DMCA issues?
What's the problem? I don't believe for a second that @Bill fell over LET about 2 years ago and right now he fell over it again and created an account just to praise HostSolutions.
But: that's no reason to attack him. Most of us have seen weirder things happen.
Also HostSolutions isn't all bad so I don't doubt that some HS customers are more or less happy.
TL;DR Let's try to stay constructive.
Maybe a mod can close the thread? It's degraded into navel gazing about shitposting.
Hey - I resemble that remark!
Ehrr, there are people waiting for cociu to make statements about the progress of his support queue here!
Maybe show those who cannot behave the door?
Well that's exactly what happened. Reading the feed in the Google app is part of my nightly routine and there was an article linking to this thread. I came to check it out and see a bunch of negativity being thrown @cociu and wanted to balance the scales.
Both!
I've got a feeling the double quote is not going to work as I hope, but posting from my phone isn't exactly intuitive... Please excuse the fail if it does!
One happy user does not balance anything.
Hey at least you think I'm an actual user now!
I actually had to go Google what sh*tposting is (forgive me - I'm 40 and have a rather full day to day life) but after learning I feel bad for contributing to it on this thread. My intentions were well meant but when it all boils down...
Following the advice of @Ctc I'm going to refrain from feeding the trolls any more and bow out of this thread. @cociu I hope you keep doing what you're doing. Don't let these haters sway you.
I don't see HS haters here. What I see is people who are p_ssed off for good reasons like waiting for weeks for a ticket response or to get the product they payed for. And I see that quite a few of those people are not hating HS but actually stay calm or even constructive.
Simple rule: When someone treats you very badly, e.g. by repeatedly breaking promises he made, or by not meeting even minimum professional standards, being angry is a perfectly normal reaction and not "hate".
It's not HS' customers who need to improve. It's HS that needs to improve.
And there we go. Did you even read this thread or is being 40 too much for you to do that?
If you had you would see all the issue that people are having from not being able to use their service at all, only able to use a single template, have issues that are not being answered after weeks and so on.
Feeding the trolls? Just GTFO.
What HS product did you pay for and when? My impression is that you have never bought an HS product. But you are very visible here.
I come here to say hostsolution helped me get rid of porn addiction.
Last year I bought a 1TB storage server from hostsolutions. I uploaded my entire porn collection to the server so I can watch them from everywhere at any time. The uploading speed was very slow, it took me about a month to finish uploading 600GB of porn videos. Though it sounds very silly, but back then I was really eager to set up my own "Pornflix".
Things went pretty well and it worked flawlessly untill that night. I was having a really good time when suddenly the video paused. I soon figured out that my server just went offline. You can imagine how frustrated a person could be when he got interrupted in the middle of "something". I had to get up and open my computer. Then logged in the control panel and hit the reboot button.
I SSHed into my server to check if everything was up and running, only to found out everything was wipe out. I was shocked. I double checked the folders and I was pretty sure everything was gone. What I was looking at was a freshly reinstalled server.
All hopes are dashed to pieces. I was so frustrated that I didn't even finish my "bussiness" that night.
After that accident, I suddenly became less and less interested in collecting porn videos. I was able to focus more on my really life, and every body around me start to noticed some little changes on me. Now I am not the man I used to be. It was hostsolutions that helped me get rid of my porn addiction. Hostsolutions really cares about me. They taught me a good lession: my porn collection doesn't really matter that much to me.
Serioursly, people should stop complaining about hostsolutions' crappy service quality and start realizing if you choose hostsolutions as your provider, your
porn collectiondata probably doesn't really matter that much to you either.@Kiwi83, thanks for sharing your story with PAA (Porn Addicts Anonymous). I think that we can all identify with the pain that you felt at the moment your porn collection was deleted by a simple reboot of your server at HS.
Who would like to share their story next? Don't be shy, we're all in the same boat.
@angstrom
I have no pity with @Kiwi83 because instead of porn - which can be retrieved again - one might have really, really valuable data on a VPS, like e.g. a couple of ten GB of good quality random.
600GB and no backup.... and in HS!!!
did you also get rid of the "bussiness" ?
there must have been something else you,,, how did you over come/replace the triggers?
But 600GB of porn videos lost! That's a serious loss! Not even a little sympathy?!
Filed under "things that never happened"
What's the Bob Saget line? To paraphrase, "That's not an addiction. Have you ever sucked dick for porn?" (Was "weed")
Just shaking my head at how you think you would be an addict but didn't have local source as primary source and the cloud as the extra backup. Fucking latency and reliability, man!
I know you meant to be funny, but I'm left thinking, "you're not even trying". You insult actual addicts that put a little effort and care into their curated tastes. Hehe
It means there is little chance of any innocent intruder/burglar or curious partner alighting and being ambushed and traumatized by the sight of at least 600 porn DVDs. Thats a shitload of DVDs.
The poster is sensitive to the distress his porn stash might inflict on innocent parties. Of course if you go poking around his mobile phone or laptop then serves you right for being nosy.
getting alot of packet loss on vps boxes anyone else having issues? guessing might be a ddos attack underway
Looks like it. Getting Cloudflare errors instead of their website, and the VPS is clearly having network problems.
Yes, IPs under ddos. Dedi server down as well.
Cociu said he had some voxility Anti-DDOS. I don’t know why people target poor cociu, he sold me 1 TB storage VPS for like 20$/year after 50% extra credit and summer storage discount. It costs me more for electricity for 1 year for old laptop on idle.
It is being fucked again, someone must eat too much and be so boring. And Cociu's defence is ___ 😒
Network seems to be down more frequently, probably due to DDoS.
I ordered and paid for my server on 14. of July. Since the automatic payment detection with paypal doesn't work I had to open a ticket that day.
15. of July I get a response that the amount I paid a day before got credited to my account and I should order again. I do that and find a new invoice generated asking me to pay additional 0,20€ with PayPal. Payment detection doesnt work again and I have to create a ticket and ask for manual verification. This time the invoice manually is marked as paid and my VPS gets activated.
On 16. July I open a ticket about only 2TB storage being avaible on a 6TB VPS. This ticket is closed unanswered after 10 days.
On 25. July the fixed CentOS image becomes available, I install my server using centos and find it with the full 6TB capacity. Since I never used CentOS the VPS is now idle.
On 30. July I try to install Debian/Ubuntu, but it doesnt work. All usage graphs are white, SSH doesnt work, ping doesnt work, reinstallation/reboot doesnt work. All errors point me to the fact my VPS has been deleted. On the same day I open a ticket about that.
On 12. of August my ticket gets deleted (not closed) without notice, so I open a new one.
On 13. of August I get a reply to specify which server I'm talking about (I have two 10€/year OVZ idlers with HS), even though I always select the appropriate server in the ticket creation form. I reply on the same day, mentioning its the 6TB KVM and the server IP. This ticket is unanswered until now, will likely get deleted again on the 23. August.
@cociu please fix my server, please change the next billing date to the day my server works + 3 months. Ticket ID #552302
